Not all of them are rich and delicious with flavors that evolve. Ardbeg is engine degreaser. Caol ila is uninspired. In contrast, Lagavulin is made by the gods. Glenmorangie nectar d'or is also supernal. Single malt is no guarantee of excellence. People talk as if the worst single malt is always vastly superior to the best blended. It's silly, especially when the best blended scotches are often composed of the best single malts.
