I would love to buy my own house but unfortunately the prices are so out of reach now.

In the 50's my grandparents could buy their own house after only five years of working but now you would have to work over 30 years to even get close.

Where I live no landlord is hoarding land in rural areas or even suburbs. I think living on that tiny island exacerbates property rental and ownership issues for you. We have tons of cheap land here if you don't mind living 1 hour from a big city.
