When will Americans learn that you don't call cops for a "welfare check". Cops have guns. You call the cops to deal with people doing shit like robbing stores and banks or committing murder. You don't call the cops because you're worried about your friend. It seems to always end up in them getting shot to death.
Know what you should do if you're worried about your friend? Fucking go over to their house and check up on them yourself. Call their family. Call mutual friends. Maybe try to get a doctor or nurse to make a house call with you. This situation is outside of the expertise of cops, and in the USA usually just results in death.
Never ever call the police. Ever. For any reason. Just in case I didn't stress it enough already: EVER.

As far as I'm concerned she was fully in the right to come walking out onto those stairs with a weapon and she'd have been totally justified to open fire on those trespassers. She had broken no laws and transgressed against no person and as such was under no obligation to comply with the demands of those cops. They should have just left and been grateful no to have charges pressed against unlwaful entry.
Now if they'd have been there to arrest her under warrant for an actual CRIME and she had pulled a gun, no problem, I see the justification in deadly force.
