Anecdotal but my wife works at a major hospital and found out yesterday that a patient on her floor was tested positive for corona virus six days ago and nobody was told, not even the nurse caring for this patient. That nurse was quietly sent home yesterday for "unrelated reasons" and the few staff who now know about this were instructed by their managers not to tell anyone. None of the other patients on that floor are allowed to know somebody has corona virus, and staff aren't supposed to talk about it with coworkers from other units (they obviously are though). I'm not sure what's stopping the actual sick person from saying anything but it seems like this hospital is trying to keep it quiet for some reason.
There are 4 other suspected cases on that same floor. The local news has not covered or reported on any of this yet.
