>Topless women have taken to the streets in Paris to protest against the "virus of patriarchy" – but were chased away by police.
The bizarre protest on Sunday, which appeared to have a coronavirus theme, saw 50 women put their boobs on display while donning goggles, rubber gloves and hazmat suits tied around the waist.
In a clip, recorded in the city's Place de la Concorde, semi-naked feminists from the group Femen chanting slogans while holding up placards demanding that the “pandemic of patriarchy” ends. They also fire purple smoke sticks and used portable sprayers to "wash away sexism" in the performance which coincided with International Women's Day.
When police show up, the protesters are seen running away – with one semi-naked activist toppling to the floor.
On its website, FEMEN said: "Our activists have struggled to sweep away street harassment, unearth the old hints of male domination, disintegrate the discriminations present in the public space, and finally wash away stereotypes and sexism to limit the risks of spread.
