Why does he insist on pretending it's a democracy? Why not just declare he's president for life and be done with it? This whole "Oh we have elections, oh it's akshually NOT my third term, oh akshually it's not going to be technically my fifth term lmao" is very very tiring.
Would the Russians actually care if that happens? They seems to be very docile and accepting of their dear leader.
Why does he insist on pretending it's a democracy? Why not just declare he's president for life and be done with it...
>They seems to be very docile and accepting of their dear leader.
They have no real choice or power in the matter. Russia is run like an organized crime family. The average Russian knows nothing will change.
In the end every nation gets the leader they deserve
Oligarchs
Few reasons:
1) This is a literal spit to the face of “non systematic opposition” (basically who are not accepted by Putin. Accepted parties are LDPR - Liberal-Democratic Party of Russia. Ironically - Extreme Right, KPRF - Commies. Ironically centrist-left, especially after supporting the addition of God to the new constitution, SR - Emmm... ok, honestly, I have no fucking clue who are they. Filler party, lol)
2) During days, when he was ruling the St. Petersburg, he was acting like a arbiter in football (or soccer) between crime gangs. This system was transferred to the ruling system of Russia.
3) because fuck you, that’s why
I heard one really good phrase sometime ago: Many countries have mafia. Here, Mafia has a country
>Why does he insist on pretending it's a democracy?
Because not doing so is bad for business and international relationships. The only reason anyone cares about pretending to be democracy is because of the US. There aren't that many actual democracies as there are countries with the word "democratic" in their name.
>Would the Russians actually care if that happens?
They are content with him. And sort of grateful.
>They seems to be very docile and accepting of their dear leader.
Russian people are largely apolitical until they have something to eat and somewhere to sleep. For them it's more like rooting for their home team.
Also I noticed that there are some bulgarian flags here who won't shut the fuck up about Russia. Are you all one person?
>They are content with him. And sort of grateful.
Speak for yourself.
I think majority of Russians just got use to it. Better off not trying to start shit or it means you will be dead.
It's the Russian way. Sneak around and never admit anything however ludicrous the denial.
