often what occurs is the male transitioned experiences female privledge in an era of feminism gone wild. He is treated like he is special and no longer treated like a man so he is happy. In reality he was probably a prissy nancy boy who needed some more test and proper male role models. He took the easy road.
The problem is that once he hits 30,40,+ the honeymoonphase with being transgender is over and they might suddenly realize that their loose hedonistic lifestyle had no bearing on their long term joy and only served as a stop gap measure/internal self deception and they are likely going to hit a critical juncture where they realize theres no going back and kill themselves or they attempt to detransition and salvage their lives as best as possible.
