Unfortunately people here have a childish "you cant tell me what to do!" attitude. if it's any consolation soon in the U.S. we will also be fucked royally. our government has already given up completely on containment and have moved onto mitigation. however, as we've already seen mitigation without draconian measures like the Chinese took does absolutely fuck all to stop the virus. in fact our government isn't even doing case tracing, area disinfection, testing all known contacts, using fucking apps to identify where known cases were like South Korea has done which has slowed their disease spread. also dumb mongs in our gov think that because South Korea's cases aren't bad (skewed by the fact that 30% of all cases are in youth 20-30) that this thing isn't that bad. just wait until it's ripping through every nursing home or elderly care facility nation wide like it did in Washington

Same. My parents are older, 68 and 72. If they got it, they would surely die, especially my dad as he's a heavy smoker. I hate the thought of that happening because some stupid fucking chink let loose a virus. And the thought that to protect globalism that there was no major precautions put in place BEFORE everyone got fucking infected. If I was a US politician I would use this virus as a means of promoting isolationism for the US. They're fully capable of doing so.
