Not true, there is a spectrum of efficacy. Stepping a metre back from an infected person reduces chance of transmission. Yes you want a 95/100 mask but any mask is useful. I have a full face mask but anything helps. That said mine is a military mask so if no-one else is wearing even paper ones I'll be arrested for being schizo when the time comes.

Depends on the mask. The reusable ones can be cleaned out for re-use. Many modern military mask will last for hundreds of hours with cleaning. They won't work for CRN in CBRN after that time due to the activated charcoal reaching max absorption but I doubt you're going to get hit with sarin gas anytime soon.

Certain stereotypes do hold true though, you don't know how to queue and can be very rude. I always end up in some sort of shouting match. Southern Maryland originally but moved to Georgia (not Atlanta) for grad school. I live in a small city south of Atlanta and can tell you for a fact Corona will hit this state hard. We've already had reports of a flu like illness killing people outside of Atlanta last month and one of the congressmen from here has self quarantined after CPAC. 17 cases so far but I expect that to increase soon. I bought all my shit weeks ago before the panic started setting in and sold almost everything I had in the market. Thankfully my roommates are not retarded and did the same thing and are on the same page with me. I'm hoping for the best but planning for the worst given that China is still on lockdown and Italy just put itself on lockdown. The United States does not have the capability to deal with this problem despite what the media says. We do not have the infrastructure to deal with the increased ICU treatment necessary for this virus. Hospitals already operate close to 100% capacity here and a buddy of mine at the Med School already said we are absolutely fucked.
