How are we a "mess" exactly? Just because we're poor? This is only one aspect. Bulgaria hasn't been in a war since WW2. We don't have ongoing conflicts with any of our neighbors. We have a big problem with corruption but there are some positive signs in that regard recently. I really don't see what the big deal is.
