US Navy finally realizes supercarriers are BS

Now they aim to adopt the European strategy of smaller carriers with ramps. Awesome!

>op is in a landlocked country and thinks his opinion on naval strats is worth a damn
oof.

Good morning America

>landlocked
Based retard

Carriers are obsolete, big floating targets unless you're attacking shit hole countries.

In a hot war they'd be completely taken out in days.

The new hotness is submarine carriers launching UAVs while submerged.

Navy task force report.... And nothing of value will be reported.

with our navy there, those fucking krauts are landlocked.
lrn2strat

Nah, the US military is just one huge money laundering scheme, the bigger the better, they will build gigacarriers from here on.

Do those submarines exist?

> germany is landlocked
yes, you are 100% american

Any real hot war with a peer opponent would just go nuclear. Why bother with anything else?

Carriers are exactly what is needed for the current role of the navy, Fighting and deterring non peer opponent navies.

>landlocked
>that’s bait
Most people take the bait

You guys may as well be, what with such a short coastline.
Do you even have a navy?

Nobody wants to join the military anymore. They're just realizing that if they continue building these bigass ships none of them will ever be fully staffed. Two smaller ships with full crews is better than one giant ship with half a crew.

Your Navy isn’t in Northern Europe.

>Germany is a landlocked country
there's no way Americans don't fudge their IQ scores, they're almost as retarded as the average Ukrainian

Our coastline is 4 times longer than the fence Trump built in 4yrs...

LOL yes it is retard

Nobody CAN join the military anymore. That is the problem.

They just revealed the Virginia class was built with that capability in mind. So they've been planning this for a very long time.

I refuse to believe that you're genuinely this stupid. Don't drag your fellow burgers down with you!

oof

Back to HoI4 and reading strategypage wannabe faggot.

Why have a smaller carrier when you could have a supercarrier and carry more snacks?
Dipshit

He's actually based though.
But I can see why you'd think otherwise. Burgers are too infested to acknowledge and fighting only shitholes didn't help.

Sorry, I meant 40 times longer, it’s 2390km, almost as much coastline as America’s border to Mechico.

how long would it take to run across that deck

This is from the US naval institution. Point out the naval bases in Northern Europe? You know why you won't find any? Because NATO allied fleets pretty much control it already making it redundant for the US to commit major recourse there in the first place. I bet you're the kind of person who doesn't hold inner-monologues with himself.

Why would it go nuclear right away? That's retarded.

Why did my pic not upload!?

Wait til Libfags learn how much fucking pollution Carriers pump into the oceans lawlz

*launches nuclear missile at your aircraft carrier, instantly vaporizing it.*

$500 billion well spent!

America has a Navy so large it could go solo against the combined naval force of the rest of the world and win easily. We did this so that we could secure almost risk free ocean trade for everyone that would play ball with us against the Soviets. And now, with the cold war over and no reason to subsidize the world's trade, America has the lowest global deployment of troops since pre WW2, and at the rate they are being recalled, in a decade our foreign deployment will be at pre Spanish-American War levels.

We are moving to a new economic paradigm where the USA has all the oil, gas, petrochemicals, and most importantly, FARMLAND that it needs. There is no point in maintaining such an oversized naval force when you mostly want to trade with Mexico, Canada, Japan, and the UK. We are a global power, realizing that it only has regional interests.

Rogoway is an idiot smaller carriers cant keep up the op tempo of larger ones he just has a hard on for them

How many foreign built systems has that guy said we need? Let me guess, buying small rampy bois from the UK is much more efficient than making our own...

Spain rules the waves

>Nobody CAN join the military anymore
How so, don't you just need to show up for boot?

you are a global power at its final stage: being eaten alive from the inside by parasites imported by your own elite. So you shift your focus to defense - but you know it damn well that nothing can save you.

Because being the first to use nuclear weapons gives you a big advantage

Fun fact: Bismarck was pissed because the British and French both had massive overseas empires due to their navies and Germany did not.

I'm talking about making predictions above the level of kikery user. Beyond all discussions of monetary policy and ideology, what ultimately matters is that you can source a stable supply of kilowatt hours and calories.

Our Soviet era policy was about making it stupidly easy for the world to do just that, by letting anybody source materials from anybody, and sell goods to anybody at a whim. But that system is going to go away in your lifetime, and the there will be few countries insulated enough, and self sufficient enough to just shrug that off.

Mutt education.

you are a stupid massive faggot, supercarriers are used as floating bases to control small countries, in a total war the submarines would be used, without super carriers it is the beginning of the cuck era of america

cuck ship

nah

>He didn't play Ace Combat 7

...

I tend to agree with you, but I'm not so sure what's going to happen with china.

It seems like they're trying to replicate the US' old strategy of expansion... I don't think they have the feet big enough to fill those shoes though.

Its not a landlocked country, but it might as well be because it has no unchallenged access to a real ocean. The baltic is Russia's back yard, the North Sea is the UKs. This Kraut is salty and makes posts almost every week about aircraft carriers cause he's got a hard on for Germany acquiring one...

I defer to based Peter's opinion on China. They don't have a bluewater navy, but Japan sure as fuck does (and its the 2nd largest behind the US). They are geographically boxed in by mountains and desert, and they can't trade with the rest of the world across the Pacific if they can't project enough power to get past the 'first island chain' (Japan, Indonesia, Philippines, etc)

Consider also that only 17% of their land is actually arable, compared to the US where random shitpiles will grow fruit trees anywhere east of the Mississippi outside of a rain shadow. China also keeps paving over the precious farmland to build more cities no one will live in, and pollutes the fuck out of it heavy metals. At max production China could produce about 1/25th of the agricultural output of the USA, and that's WITH the fertilizer, pesticides, and herbicides we SELL TO CHINA. And they are still importing food on top of that to make ends meet. China's 1 child policy has produced such top-heavy age demographics that even if the Wuflu nuked their boomers, they would still have a shortage of people aging into military service age, and all of them would be asthmatic near sighted dweebs from growing up in industrial China.

Xi, assuming he isn't dead by now, has more power than Mao or any Chinese emperor in history if you can believe that. But the problem with that kind of centralization is that if things go wrong the people know exactly who fucked up. We're already seeing some of this with rising dissent in the face of Corona, and these kinds of brittle empires never cede ground to criticism, they double down and drive the country into the dirt.

The big meme will be if in 10 years, China is barely hanging on as a nation, and decides that invading Taiwan is the what they must do to secure popular support for the CCP, which they may try if the US has divested itself from the region, and Japan as the naval hegemon hasn't instituted the Greater Eastern Co-prosperity Sphere mk2.

Attached: Peter Zeihan thinking about the great plains.jpg (1142x1500, 228.63K)

Peter Zeihan is a raging neocon and pretends to be a doom prophet but actually paints an incredibly rosy future for USA that doesn't match up with observed reality because he can't conceive of demographics. The American geographic position is strong, but so is Europe's geographic position. Yet Europe stagnated into a satellite of American power despite having an Atlantic moat, and the seas Baltic, Black, and Mediterranean to protect it while projecting its sea power. They had the world and lost it just as America is now doing.

As for China, why can't they trade across the desert and mountains? It's stated as a fact, taken for granted, but the Silk Road was always across that desert into Central Asia. They are devoting hundreds of billions of dollars to developing central asia and Iran to expand the reach of their trade network overland.

>unironically quotes that shill
I used to be a huge Zeihan fanboy. I watched every single youtube video of him along with reading his first book, The Accidental Superpower. Even if there's a lot of great stuff in it, especially the chapter that explains why historical nations became as great as they were, the moment he enters into American politics he turns into a glowie personified. He is assuring of the US' complete dominance and absolutely denies ANYTHING that can possibly happen to it. There will never be another depression, there will never be another civil war and there will never be any form of dissent in your nation. The river network means that you'll always be the richest. It's basically heaven on Earth.

This mentality alone and the inability to criticize America even once discredits every single thing he says about American rivals because he's obviously biased and pushing something here.

meh, no. we are what awaits you in the future, more or less.

Took them long enough. Why carry all your assets on one boat, seems like high risk in a real war with a technological competent adversary.

yes, they are just bad marines :^)

Well, WW2 kickstarted globalisation, and Europe was too weakened and divided, with colonial empires that were piles of dirt. Not fit for competing as a top player anymore.
It's a matter of scale, the US were ur to scale for the new scene. Building the EU is a (failed?) response to that scale problem.

>Do those submarines exist?
Just make UAVs capable of launching like a Tomahawk. There you go, the whole fleet is now UAV capable.

Then there is swedish submarine that defeated whole of US fleet.

why the fuck is Germany talking about military shit?
arent you still occupied by us? LOL
