Global virus pandemic is a black swan event that the President can't really control. Global financial meltdown in response to that is somewhat expected, and again out of the President's control.
In terms of how well he handles the crisis, it is too early to say. We'll have a solid idea by the summer over whether he's fumbled the ball or handles it competently.
So far he's handled crises very well (Iran, North Korea, ISIS, Migrant Caravans, etc) so it would be surprising if this is an exception but we'll see.
