I did. I can think the hospital system can surge 2500 extra deaths before raising eyebrows, and it would take weeks to communicate the problem around and to the media. I can also see 5000 dead alone in apartments, especially if it happens all in the same 10 period suddenly. So for about two weeks or three I could see 5000-10000 hidden deaths, which would not get tested for COVID naturally, but also which wouldn't raise any alarm bells. But after than nah.

The key takeaway, is that this is just the beginning. People don't realize that this is going to become a yearly thing, and rather than it being "flu season" it's going to be "covid19 season".
The other important thing is that there's no cure, and there will likely never be a cure, and if there is it's still 10+ years down the road. There's preventative stop gaps, and there's treatments to counter effect the symptoms, but there's no actual /cure/.
You either die, or you live long enough for the virus to burn itself out and go dormant in your system. Those are the two outcomes of this. And at the rate it's already mutating, there's a good chance that the Covid19 we're dealing with today will be drastically different from the 'Covid19' we deal with in a year from now.
