Electric cars are the future. They will reach price parity with new cars in 5 years or less and infrastructure will be built quicker.
Electric cars
You're so low IQ. Petro Dollar.
Electic cars because y?
ok
>more cheap plastic shit will surely mask our rising suicide rates
I rather just walk thanks.
greasy salesmen are also going to be obsolete. Every telsa ordered via online
The only future right now are electric chairs
Cool. I'm still not buying a tesla.
can I hitch a ride phamalamadingdong?
The kind of people owning, designing and supplying electric vehicles are so out of touch with the working class population it is ridiculous
They could cost half as much and I still wouldn't buy one. Until they can be charged in the amount of time it takes to pump 30 gallons of gas they are fucking useless.
Because they will ultimately be cheaper to own than gas.
its all about the energy storage, capacity and output and also environmental cleaness, The US gov or shadow gov must have some mobile storage tech
Yea faggot, and the Earf b flat and shit.
You're such a fucking nigger you don't even know you're a nigger.
Neither am I. Can’t stand Tesla fans and Elon is a smug idiot. I’m thinking of getting a GM, Hyundai, or Kia Ev
I want a cybertruck.
Um. What?
They look weird to me, but whatever. Will be interesting to see how it turns out.
wat?
And mountains of coal will be burnt to power them.
Well, many of the current EV models are just hatch back hippie cars. Newer models coming out will be different.
Tesla dominates because they are superior, pleb.
Nigger gas is free now. Have you been hiding under a rock?
The plastic crap is inevitable. It’s on all new cars now. Maybe carbon fiber will be the future if production price comes down. That stuff feels more solid somewhat
girls a whispering about you not owning a BMW M car or Porsche, user. I'll still be your friend though.
checked
It’s not free
Ok Tesla fan
The obvious objections are range, charger convenience, software support, and the fact that lithium mining is not that environmentally friendly.
They don't know what BMW M is.
Ok Tesla fan.
One people are missing about EV cars and even hybrids is now states are charging more to register them then gasoline..so in my state it is double the amount... most states have adopted this...so in reality..someone like me that doesnt drive that much..the savings would not be there ...electricity isn't free.
M for illegal in America.
Not really that impressed with total electric cars. Clearly overrated.
In the future every car will be electric because it will be the way to control your car. Cars used to mean freedom to roam anywhere, nowadays every movement is being monitored and data is logged in newer cars.
I bet 30 years from now the government will be able to remotely shut down your car .
Goodbye freedom, cars was one of the last bits of freedom we had. Rip
lol gas prices are basically to zero now. Better luck next time electric jew
wait do people actually buy these things to save money? I just want one because 0-60 in 2 seconds. 3 phase induction motors are infinitely superior to internal combustion engines when it comes to performance
>The obvious objections are range, charger convenience, software support, and the fact that lithium mining is not that environmentally friendly.
Most newer models have sufficient range. 200-300 miles per charge is plenty for most trips.
The charging infrastructure is getting built out - check out Electrify America.
Software - have absolutely no clue what will happen here.
Lithium mining occurs at a scale that is orders of magnitude less than oil and the batteries will end up being recycled. The lead acid batteries in cars are already one of the most recycled items.
Will unironically but an electric Volkswagen if they ever bring them here
Already have a 30 amp plug in the garage
>just want one because 0-60 in 2 seconds.
Honestly, shut the fuck up. You don't like cars, wrenches, or women. Go sit on something.
the funny thing is as an electrician I'm probably engaged in a more masculine trade than you are. I'm betting you're a fatass NEET :^)
Ofcourse, it is going to be a wild one though
luuk @ all dat shit you typed
RIP electrical grid
Electric cars will only take off when they standardize batteries, and you can go to a fuel station and swap your battery for a fresh charged one and be on your way within a minute or two
Yeah. Tons of EV advocates are pissed about that. The reason why it happens is that EVs don’t pay the tax premium that’s on gas to maintain the roads. If anything, they should be basing the cost charged on mileage.
mup da doo didda po mo gub bidda be dat tum muhfuggin bix nood
every car has a different charging port right now too it's complete aids
agreed!
Electric grid will handle it fine. There are already massive loads that turn on and off at seemingly random times.
Plus, battery swapping was tried and it wasn’t cost effective or practical.
charged in less than 10 minutes would be fine, how about 5 mins? You get half the range around 150 miles in 25 mins is that not enough? they are going higher voltage to be faster, twice as fast would be revolutionary
Well, not quite. In the US, only Tesla and Nissan have unique DC charging ports. All electric cars can hook up to the same charging port for level 2 charging.
Usless shit politically promoted. Won't survive in free market.
y cum 4 my phone aint b car yet? Fuck Google.
Charge times are trending faster in newer models. GM just made an announcement about their new battery platform. Looks pretty legit
At the rate battery technology is progressing someone will have to bring back an example from 2559 to us before electric anything is viable.
I'd like to point out also that the moment EV's actually start to get fielded in any real numbers is also the moment the meme of "free" charging dies at your school, office, target parking lot, etc. The US is only going to have worse and worse power infrastructure as the solar panel delusion continues on to its inevitable conclusion.
>Muh free market
>Ignoring US car manufacturers getting federal bailouts
>Electric grid will handle it fine.
We still have brownouts in this country every summer from the air conditioners. Imagine adding 10,000,000 cars charging at the same time
Solid state salt batteries would be them viable. Power grids would have to change, though.
Soon it really won’t be. They’ll be flying off the shelf - so to say.
if electric powered vehicles were cheaper the military would be using them by now. Plus some of us have shit to carry in our truck and the toy engine in an electric motor couldn't handle the tow.
In commiefornia that happens. Never happens in the southeast.
literally every single EV on the market lets you schedule charging for 3 a.m. when demand is low
isn't 480v the max practical voltage, because the battery is in that ballpark? Unless they go for like 1000v batteries, which would just be insanity
You should check out the upcoming electric truck specifications. They seem pretty average
Electric cars been tried to launch twice during last century, every time failed because of inefficiency. Perhaps these days the only chance of these trolleys on battery is heavy political promotion to extend surveillance over fellow citizens.
>power grids would have to change though.
I'll be on people obeying traffic laws in Syria.
My car has a six speed manual transmission, doesn't weigh much and has around 360 hp, and is fun as shit to drive, racing through the gears. When an electric car seems more like a man's car I'll consider it.
Lol. What? As if that couldn’t happen with a gas car. Electric cars are not some secret government surveillance scheme. The government doesn’t need them to watch you.
A while back I thought they would not advance enough to meet our needs. But I did order the Tesla truck a few months ago and I'm really excited.
I want an oversized wireless cellphone charger built into the road to charge my car as I’m driving
Yeah Tesla just increases amperage to charge faster
Higher voltage would be more dangerous to work with too
Disregarding the politics, electric cars are in no way more beneficial than combustion engines IN ANY WAY.
That’s cool. I think they look weird, but it doesn’t matter. It will be interesting seeing them on the road. I’m looking at the Kia niro EV or Hyundai Kona Ev for now.
Ok, so you can’t do math. Got it.
great argument faggot. Cool 6's I suggest riding hermit crabs.
But don't you just understand the basic principle that the military is basically at war with every other military that it can't control so it has to look for the best technology it can get to maintain dominance? That means if electric cars were actually fuel efficient you would see them being used by the military.
Well, driving around the US isn’t like driving around some war zone. Most cars can’t handle being driven in a war zone anyways. I don’t see the point of your argument
U serious?
Well, it’s pretty much retarded to believe that EVs have just as much impact to the environment as gas cars. EVs also require far less scheduled maintenance than gas cars. They are also cheaper to fuel because they are 3-5 times more efficient than gas cars.
