My mom got into genealogy a while back. One of my wife's ancestor was on the Dawes roll, which is what the Cherokee use for validation. We're waiting on the paper work to be approved for the kids. (Wife doesn't really give a shit.) I plan on checking that box on every college application, and every financial aid form. Like I told my wife, the day the tribal membership card arrives, is the day my kids start complaining about how they've been kept down by the man their whole lives.
I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to playing racial identity politics for them. This is such a fucked up country, it'll be nice to have some of my tax dollars coming back my way instead of funding free school meals for Mexican illegals.
