Shale is cheaper to produce than Russian oil and much more purer, meaning you have to spend money to refine it. This is terrible for Russia.

As someone who got a Petroleum Engineering Degree 5 years ago and couldn't find a job along a lot of others, I hope prices fall to $20 dollars or less. Plus the idea of getting to travel and work outside was appealing.
