>The US Army said it was curbing its plans to adopt the Iron Dome missile defense system due to concerns about its compatibility with existing US technologies, scrapping its plans to buy two more batteries and explore long-term integration of the Israel-developed system.
>A central problem was Israel’s refusal to provide the US military with Iron Dome’s source code, hampering the Americans’ ability to integrate the system into their air defenses.
>“It took us longer to acquire those [first] two batteries than we would have liked,” Murray told the House Armed Service tactical air and land forces subcommittee on Thursday. “We believe we cannot integrate them into our air defense system based on some interoperability challenges, some cyber challenges and some other challenges.”
>The Israeli Missile Defense Organization and the Army last August inked a deal for two Iron Dome batteries. Soon thereafter, according to sources, Army officials repeatedly requested Iron Dome “source code” — proprietary information detailing how the system works.
>Israel supplied engineering information but ultimately declined to provide the source code the Army said it needed to integrate Iron Dome components with US systems.
>of the Israel-developed system kek, here's the joke Israelis developped this from imported US R&D by Raytheon and other US companies that they got for FREE
Something something freetard us govt btfo, use proprietary closed source defense systems like a good goy
Ryder Perry
The whole Israeli missile program is from US R&D from companies like Raytheon, Israel created this retarded system long ago but the experience they gained from Hamas missiles always raining down on them made them develop this system much better, and now US was interested in this fully mature Missile system, but Israel gave them the middle finger
Anthony Miller
>The whole Israeli missile program is from US R&D from companies like Raytheon No, it wasn't. It's entirely Israeli. Raytheon is the Israeli partner for domestic sales. >Israel gave them the middle finger The networking systems the Americans want are held by a private company. The Israeli government cannot force them to open their black box.
Jonathan Morgan
>entire country only exists through the 'generosity' of the US taxpayer >Israel develops some cool anti-missile technology with the billions they received for free >doesn't even share the source code for the defense systems that the US paid for in whole Grug think longnose tribe bamboozle him?
Andrew Morgan
>“source code” — proprietary information detailing how the system works Interesting definition.
Connor Kelly
I think it's an explanation, not a definition. The source code for a millitary defense system is almost certainly proprietary, and yes, it details in perfect detail how the system works, as by definition it's the most perfectly accurate specification of the system's behaviour.
Austin Jackson
>source code for a millitary defense system is almost certainly proprietary It shouldn't be allowed to be.
Didn't we rush to produce and deploy Patriot missile batteries in Israel way back when Saddam was threatening them with SCUD missiles? Didn't I read somewhere that Iron Dome descended from Patriot? Why am I reading claims now that this is purely an Israeli system. >donate billions to fund Israeli defense >no refunds, goyim
>"What, so you can check it for backdoors?" >"No we never do that, oh uh uh" >"Emergency, emergency, we have to recall all these, no you cant see the sourcecode, nevermind"
I hadnt realised there were so many defence specialists on Yas Forums
Cameron Nguyen
This post is entirely wrong, t. works on stuff exactly like this
Alexander Smith
>the question is why do you even care? Hi JIDF. We care because you AREN'T an ally if you don't share. This is just the first step. One day that money you get given will stop too. Now FUCK OFF because you clearly not interested in discussing anything here. Go post more BBC threads in /b.
Thomas Nelson
My dad works at Nintendo, so it looks like we're at an impasse.
Gabriel Morgan
>If you don't like the relationship between the two countries, why don't you run for government? Are you underestimating us?
Probably don't want that the CIA leaks the data to their jihadist minions
Nicholas Wilson
America is Israel's little bitch.
Lucas Robinson
>world calls you hitler >you build wall for israel
4d chess baby.
Evan Taylor
>Are you underestimating us? absolutely yes. most of your public does not hold these views your opinions are extreme and you are a minority. the relationship between Israel and the United States is one that the United States has initiated. if you dont like it run for government and change it
Joseph Anderson
The Israel is effectively a vassal State, they may exist to be useful for us but they usually don't like their status. If this is how it's going to be it's time for the US to cut ties and let the muslim hordes genocide them and personally take the land for ourselves. But conservacucks and defense industry get the $3 billion we send Israel back to line their own pockets so they're not going to do it. Ironically only the democrats are the only ones critical of Israel because they gotta tow the line for their muslim congressmen
Liam Lee
>your opinions are extreme Not him but literally what does this even mean. This is another product of the left-right paradigm, ain't it? Who cares, it's true either way.
Jacob Turner
>we What the hell? Why do United States citizens refer to themselves as 'we' whenever their government and It's contractors/agencies do something? You didn't do jack or belong to their club, shut up.
Noah Green
I paid for it bitch nigger.
Jason Evans
>what does this even mean. What this simply means is to be radicalized and this incitement is not objective. And most of those things are lies.
Colton Fisher
Your contribution is insignificant on an individual level. You are not important. This doesn't give you status or power, really. It's not your money anymore. Not yours, it's theirs. And you're not invited to their club. You don't represent them and vice versa.
If I were Israel, I wouldn't share the source code either. Once America has it, Saudi Arabia has it one year later, and from there on it gets to ISIS.
Chase Taylor
Ok but I don't want to hear shit from you about anything "Americans" do ever again, got it? Cause they don't represent us, apparently.
Parker Nguyen
>actuallly bothering to play by the rules in selection circus naively believing it will actually result in any meaningful change Jesus Christ. People have truly lost their minds. They don't learn from history at all.
Samuel Campbell
>reading comprehension
Levi King
How does Kennedy relate to this?
Carson Thompson
>understanding how a democracy works
Nathan Nelson
They just don't want the US to find out that the source code was written in PHP
Not that user but I think he ran for public office and then something bad happened
Alexander Turner
>not understanding the difference between a democracy and republic
Zachary Mitchell
>The Israel is effectively a vassal State you got that the other way around, goy
Connor Hernandez
if the government prioritized STEM and the education of its own citizens they might not have to farm out this sort of R&D. what are they going to do when they can't find enough engineers and scientists who they can give clearances to because universities are more concerned with collecting out-of-state tuition? does it not undermine national security?
Charles Gray
>I think he ran for public office and then something bad happened
Kennedy actually wanted the Middle East deployment
You think politicians are concerned with anything beyond cheap wins that guarantee them reelection? There's a reason why US politics has devolved into three letter catch phrases and eternal filibusters, companies lobby for tax cuts and that's about it. To hell with the republic, they say.
Alexander Baker
The United States is a federal republic in name only. In reality it's more akin to a plutocratic oligarchy with federal elements In lower branches of the state. These delusions must end.
Evan Morales
it's not really a political issue.
Alexander Rogers
>Israel has a psychological grip on the public and has effectively controlled the selection circus for years with their lobby groups >has unquestioned control over the money supply and financial resources in addition to having close ties with military contractors and those within the senate >lol no actually they're our vassal state Are Americans really this mind broken?
Aaron Nguyen
Kennedy became opposed to the Israeli nuclear weapons program upon catching wind of the matter and sought to pull the plug. Coupled with Bay of Pigs turning out as a setup, he refused to remain a tool of the CIA. That was all they needed to put a bullet in his head.
Grayson Lee

Israel gets conditional money from America and is forced to buy American hardware wish it. It's a racket. Plus there's this expectation of sharing intelligence as well. Israel is basically a satellite state of the US in there ME. Without Israel, the US would be almost blind to what's happening in that shithole.
Angel Cooper
>if the government prioritized STEM and the education of its own citizens The last time the government prioritized the education of its citizens we got a public school initiative that required teachers to change their curriculum so that any kid with an IQ of 85 would be literally guaranteed to get a passing grade.
Ian Walker
>why don't you run for government Imagine being this much of a naive faggot from hackernews
Aaron Barnes
>became opposed to the Israeli nuclear weapons program upon catching wind of the matter and sought to pull the plug nobody know why "they" kill him. why are you so sure that this is the exact reason?
Connor Gutierrez
>israel pays American politicians protection money >even the aid they get is conditional upon the fact that they spend it on buying American military goods Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Afghanistan get billions in aid but they have flexibility over the spending. Explain to me how israel isnt a vassal when they have the strictest aid spending rules.
Adrian Brooks
Aid goes directly into dictator pockets. That’s why it does nothing in those countries. Israel is less corrupt and is actually a first world country so they don’t need aid but get it anyway
Dylan Kelly
Why do we have allies? Literally every one of them is trying to fuck us over except maybe UK.
Landon Nelson
US contractors charge a helluva lot more.
Eli Jones
killed by jews over him not wanting Israel to have the nukes they stole from us as well as him wanting AIPAC to be labeled a foreign entity, turns out he was right about everything!
Owen Lopez
I warned you about this. Now kikes will get to choise which misdiles hit you and which don't
>killed by jews over him not wanting Israel to have the nukes they stole from us lets start with the fact that Einstein, Oppenheimer, and Teller was jews. Nukes in the first place would not have been possible without these minds. The second thing is known that the United States did not contribute to Israel's knowledge of developing Nukes but France did! France had a motive for that. and she was the most closest ally to israel back than. I guess you're not ashamed of the fact that you mumble nonsense, And you should read more about the topic since it interests you so much.
Thomas Rodriguez
It's written Radeon, you retarded ape.
Justin Murphy
Iron Dome is a turnkey solution. There should be no need to integrate it into anything. Let's face it, this is because the US military industrial complex doesn't want someone else's turnkey solution because it shuts them out of the gravy train. Raytheon probably wanted $50 billion to deploy an unneeded and barely working hand-off to Patriot to justify Patriot batteries to go along with every Iron Dome when Iron Dome can handle it all itself. So now they're going to ask for half a trillion dollars to develop their own Iron Dome.
