Dividing the land equally doesn't do shit in the long term. You think if the founding fathers divided up the land equally, you'd be happy today? If you kept subdividing, you'd have to gerrymander everyone's property to avoid any infrastructure they built. And how are you going to fairly subdivide further? Are you gonna wait till we double in population and cut all land plots in half? So the non-land owners should just be slaves for decades until then? Or are you gonna cut up land as you go? In which case, who decides who gets the short end of the stick and gets their land cut in half first?
