The meme flags came first. Originally there were no flags. Then there were joke flags. Then they added real flags and took away the joke flags. Then after people complained they put the joke flags back.

The flags de-anonymize the site, which was the entire draw of Yas Forums in the first place. Before flags, posts were judged by their content and nothing else. That one little flag in the corner opened up a Pandora's box of bullshit that still plagues the board to this day. The mutt meme, the A FUCKING LEAF meme, all of these things derail the conversation: if someone gets assblasted over a salient point made by someone on a topic they disagree with, they can just attack the flag with any of a dozen different memes. Before, that wasn't possible. You had to be an adult about arguing and discussing, or else look like a child when you threw a tantrum at an unknown and faceless person on the internet.

Blaming the meme flags, which were never the problem, instead of the real flags, which were always the problem, shows you for the redditor immigrant that you are. This is redditchan now, and people like you are the reason why. You are responsible for this decline. You're the cancer that killed off Yas Forums. You've never understood how good an anonymous community actually is, or the power it can exert over the quality of the conversation.
