Ya no shit because there there is only a very small handful amount of female chess players, if there were more female players, there would be more women in the upper rankings.

Because like in almost everything else, once they start competing with men, they get stomped and decide to not pursue it anymore. Men love women and often boost mediocre women up over good men just because we enjoy their company so much. Any slightly above average female player would have her career massively boosted because most men are simps. But it doesnt happen much cause women are trash at it and can't stand to lose over and over.

this is a good point. the best way to get good at chess is to play against the best opponents that you can, otherwise you are going to plateau. this means that women will have to play against men if they want to get good, getting rid of womens only tournaments would facilitate this but at the same time that would likely mean that fewer girls would take up or remain in chess since winning becomes very difficult.
