Anyone who says that n95 masks dont work because muh .3 microns standard is fucking retarded and dont understand that standard dont dictate exact performances of masks across different brands.
Josiah Gomez
Agreed I didn't buy masks until ppl at work started trying to convince me that it's useless because muh media said so one even said he won't go eating with me if a wear a mask lmao I bought a whole pack of masks with airfilters
Nathaniel Harris
it's bullshit I'm a volunteerfirefighter/EMT. I can guarantee you that PPE including masks work and their use is standard protocol anytime a respiratory infection is suspected (as well as other circumstances). The training to use them properly takes less than 3 minutes.
I am completely at a loss for why they are saying that masks are useless. They seem more concerned about creating panic than about containing the virus. Meh, it's too late for that now anyway.
Camden Harris
Well that mask in the picture is worthless You need something that filters .3 micros. N95, p100 filter is what you need.
Elijah Russell
>Ignoring the fact that a virus is .004-.1 micron
They in fact don’t work on anything other than particulates at 95% effectiveness. So unless someone directly sneezes on your face mask it’s useless
James Reyes
This reminds me of when the (((media))) said that the 9/11 ground zero workers didn't need masks as well, and look how that turned out...
The virus is .125 microns. There was a study that was done testing different brand n95 masks, and n95s will still stop particles at .1 micros near or above 95% of the time if you get a proper 3m n95 mask.
I have both. I started using my masks at work (40 hours/week) for the past 2 weeks to practice and adjust my set up which has surprisingly given me good feedback.
>paper n95 masks Unless you can get it fit tested and maintain a seal, it's not worth it unless it's to have extra for family >half mask respirator The top of my nose just below my eyes had a lot of pain by the end of the day, hell even just 4 hours in, because the goggles I used didnt fit well with the mask. I had to have the mask ride slightly lower to allow a good goggles seal. But the mask maintained a great seal and allowed me to breath easy through the n95 prefilter I was using. You can just use the n95 prefilters if you get the adapters for them like pic related. I ordered new goggles to try to use that will hopefully be both adjustable and smaller profile so that I might be able to use my mask without causing a pressure point on the bridge of my nose. Also I'm not jewish so it's not like I have a bird break nose.
I want to die in a way that no one can say I killed myself.

IDK...I had the temerity to ask a manager in my state's department of health and I got the standard "it's just the flu bruh" response. I am not joking, unfortunately. I was handed a piece of paper the sole purpose of which was to subtly convince the reader that he or she should be more concerned about influenza than covid19. He completely dodged my question about why the CDC was calling masks useless and telling the public not to wear them when even our updated protocol for response to a patient suspected of covid19 infection explicitly tells us to don all PPE including a facemask.
Elijah White
Dear burger, I did never expect any knowledge of you guys about virology.
Julian Edwards
because people in the US are obsessed with image and fitting in. So, no one wants to wear a mask and when you do people think it's strange.
This country is retardmode.
Alexander Brooks
>Dude, any cloth will do! Stick to gassing Jews.
Carson Mitchell
Do the 5n11 filters even work with corona
Adrian Peterson
I did never expect a burger to do the math properly.
Daniel Evans
also, I was walking through security in Atlanta airport yesterday and, even though the CDC is telling the public not to wear facemasks, most of the TSA personnel doing the passenger screening were wearing facemasks. I guess the DHS didn't get the memo from the CDC.
Landon Ward
>Posts a picture that says wear an n95 respirator >Which specifically has a filter in it to catch particulates and other matter >Then tells people to put a regular old piece of cloth over their face >Which has no filter Sorry, you're not Hans. Just one of the low IQ niggers larping over there as German.
Liam Bailey
5n11 marked n95 do. Because they're 3m n95 filters
Benjamin Kelly
Any respiratory protection is better than no respiratory protection.
Anything bad goes around the scarf, leaf. Air follows the path of least resistance. You'll stop a snot rocket impacting your face directly while everything else just goes around. Watch this Brit's videos. He has links to shit that will actually help you if shit does hit the fan. youtu.be/p4iggEPj9cU Kill yourself low IQ nigger, go back to Africa.
I have some eurofag p3 particulate filter which I got out of the plastic to see if they fit. Particulate filter don’t have an expiration date after getting them out the package right? That’s just for the gas/combo I assume, anyone knows? Getting me a fucking spear next really fuck this coronashit
Jacob Long
They don't even have to be. 3m n95 masks filter out .1 microns at or above 95% still which is the size of the corona virus
John Kelly
n95 masks dont work because they dont guarantee a seal between your face and the mask. Most are really shitty.
Josiah Watson
中国人 Here. 3m’s mask production in China has been nationalized, literally at gunpoint, and people are buying masses to send to Chinese hospitals.
Masks .do work, but running out at the hospitals because of people panic buying is a far bigger risk than you get from the benefit from wearing one.
Nolan Kelly
>guarantee
what is probability
David Long
Not a problem if you get fit tested or get a half mask respirator with n95 filters
David James
>ignoring the fact that the virus is transmitted through droplets which are a lot bigger than that
Blake Lee
Get a load of this 'expert' from the WHO.
"The mask wont protect you, but if you're in a room with an infected patent, wear a mask". - Sheboon from the WHO.
Do particulate filters go bad once they’re not sealed anymore (unused) or nah?
Oliver Howard
If it stops your water droplets from coming out - it does, it stops another's water droplets from coming in. Obviously not as good as a proper filter, but definitely better than nothing.
Landon Diaz
Doesnt even need to be in droplets for the masks to work. See
Carter Flores
if you have opened the sealed packaging, keep them sealed in a large ziplock lucnhbag when your not using them. Even if you have used them for a few hours, putting them in a bag (separate) from clean filters will increase their lifespan. I read you can wash them and put them in a oven @100c for a few minutes and they are good to use again, but not sure.
This is not an official recommendation, just for emergency:
Do not throw the masks away. Desinfect the masks 10 min over boiling water steam. Do not put into an oven, the filter material will toughen and break.
Adrian Richardson
Should not make any difference when it is just switching from store packaging to the vacuum bag, if I did not use them right? Buying me a spear next.
Dominic Wright
If someone sneezes in your face, the virus will enter through the conjunctivalsystem or mouth. This is known for a milder course of the virus which is..ok...if you get it. But if you get Aerosol in your nose, it goes up to the central nervous system, paralyzing the breathing function which is the worst covid-19 outcome aka death. Anything protecting the nose is fine. The virusparticle is huge.
Isaac Wilson
Just but a good blade or speartip that you can easily take off and put on another pole. Whatever spear you buy it WILL break eventually. I would just focus on having a great tip and learn to fashion pole from branches. By all means buy a spear but get ready to have spare poles, they are great weapons but the leverage they offer leads to them snapping more than any medieval weapon.
Caleb Johnson
Progression of Mask Usage via Western Media: >China makes masks mandatory >Masks Help reduce risk of infection. >n95 masks particularly good at reducing risk >Get your masks now before there is a shortage. >Don't buy all the masks. >Medical Professionals are seeing a shortage of masks. >Stop buying masks, medical professionals need them. >Masks don't stop public spread. >Masks don't reduce your risk of infection >Masks INCREASE your risk of infection **(You are here)** >We are going to confiscate masks **(You are here if you're French)** >You took all the masks and now medical professionals are dying! >Stop wearing the fucking masks you fucking plebs! >The Elite don't have any masks to wear! You fucking peasants took them all! >Wearing a mask in public is a fucking criminal offense. >If you're seen with a mask you'll be shot on sight.
Will check that out thanks user stay safe in case shit goes down
Xavier Cooper
>Remember always do the opposite of what the MSM says. msm is tell you to panic though
Jayden Allen
How are you going to disinfect the filters?
William Price
0.3 is used as the standard because that's the size where particles are most likely to penetrate. Capture rate is typically higher for smaller particles.
Landon Hughes
Why would you disinefect a filter that you're never going to touch unless your swapping them out once a week at most? Also I've turned my garage into a gas chamber to disinfect all my shit. I have a 185nm UVC lamp that produces a fuck ton of ozone to disinfect my mask, goggles, and clothing when I get home. Obviously I peel it all off carefully and then wipe my exposed areas (neck, ears, hairline) down with 70% alcohol and leaving before the lamp turns on for an hour
Jace Cruz
Particulate filters don't really go bad. You only have to replace them when it becomes hard to breathe.
Sterilize masks 10 min, filter 15 min or more depending to size over boiling water steam. Only in emergency of course. Even if you live close to the aequator you can sterilize things with sun exposure.
Blake Diaz
You are welcome. Depending on material properties you Aussies can desinfect stuff through sun exposure, but better research first.
Josiah Perez
Or a uvc lamp. But the paper n95 masks do degrade over time if your stubble grows in after a shave quickly. I've noticed one of my paper masks being significantly flimsier from new stubble wear after wearing it for 3 days as an experiment.
supply and demand. hoarding mentality. gov doesn't want masks sitting in piles of NEET basements when hospital workers need gear
Adrian King
UVC lamp is the ultimate musthave gadget now, but if you do not have it, sunlight might do as well. Some things are too big to desinfect with a small lamp like mattresses or furniture. Sun can even sterilize if prepared properly.
Anthony Kelly
Cleaning will deteriorate the filter. Yes you can. See pic.
The lamp I have is the ozone created kind and not the kills on light contact kind. That way I can fumigate an entire garage of potentially contaminated clothing while I sit nakey in my living room after a 70% alcohol hope down while my wife bakes me cookies
Xavier Walker
in before uvc cancer does more damage than virus
Zachary Cruz
user, i've got a supply of pic related, is there any way to re-use these filters when it becomes hard to breathe?
probably yeah. the activated charcoal part is making it hard to breathe? i feel like you could in theory gut that part and still use the two other filters in there. i have no idea honestly
