Bigger cities are fucked, rural areas will be OK

It'll be like in the Depression except everything will hit way faster because the average city cuck has 4 days of food on hand.

People in rural areas usually have at least a small garden and enlarging it is easy, it's quite common for rural people to have a greenhouse and chickens as well.

I'm about to buy some chickens, who's with me?

And why do you think that's happening?

you need to be very rural to not get a VERY contagious disease, and you'll still get it because
even animals are spreading it, both pets, farm and wild

>Gardens
>Growing during the winter

kill yourself my man

What the hell are you talking about

>march
>winter
>american south

kys

I've had chickens for years. They're great and you can get a few ducks too to keep the insects off your veggies

Where do you think the city folk will move to once they run out of food?

Nobody is dying from this.

You don't already have you're greens and broccoli in the ground? Ngmi

a chicken tunnel. genius. control where the shit goes. ive gotten so used to chicken shit literally being on everything but i realized that only mexicans that dont give a shit about anything live like this.

>rural areas will be OK
because rural healthcare is so good?

That's how we all lived for thousands of years. I'm not buying that it's bad.

virus is airborne retard

You can easily grow potatoes for the entire year, not much space needed either

>People in rural areas usually have at least a small garden and enlarging it is easy, it's quite common for rural people to have a greenhouse and chickens as well.
Nah.
I've lived in a rural area my entire life, and maybe 2-5% of people have the land, tools, and know-how to grow or produce enough for for their family.
Most farmland in the US is owned by gigantic agriculture corporations.
Yeah, there are quite a few people who have a tiny garden and some chickens, but they still need to go to the store to buy staples, nobody is out here just their own grains for flour or herding sheep because the investment cost to utilize land to that extent isn't effective vs just buying that stuff from a store.

In Alaska the natives say you only need 3 things to survive Seafood (preferably Salmon), Seaweed (preferably Black Seaweed) and berries. I have access to all of these. "muh mosquitoes muh high cost of living" who's laughing now faggots!!

Townsman here, what's the purpose of the chicken tunnel ?

AAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Reminder you don't even need to have a garden to do your part.

Yep you can pull nearly 1k calories per harvest per square foot with potatoes and sweet potatoes making them two of the most efficient space/calorie density foods. That's entirely traditional farming methods too, no need for fancy hydro or anything. The number of harvests per year depends on your climate but at a general ~2, that's 2k calories per square foot per year. Use at least 365 square feet per person you're supporting for potatoes. That's barely any space, but be sure to supplement it with other nutritional requirements and remember not every square foot will give ideal results, try to overproduce by at least double.
Even urban areas should be capable of producing a huge portion of their own requirements with effort and smart space management.

This is getting scary here

Certain foods do better in a cold weather garden Spinach for example. Snow doesn’t seem to bother Chamomile or Thyme either.

>brussels sprouts
>carrots
>turnips
>cabbages
all can be grown in the winter here, in colder places you might need to build a greenhouse but any MAN can do it

It’s good where I am and not crowded at all when a trip to the ER is needed.

based and extremely smelly tier

Okay that tunnel is a pretty intelligent solution.

Cities are always weaker because civilizations create complex machines. The more complex you are the greater risk of failure. But anyway that's how advancements are made. But thanks to the internet the real inportance of cities has reduced greatly. Now they are mostly a status symbol.

that's an over complicated way of saying urban youths gonna run out of chicken wings

once the popeye's truck is delayed for 3 days shit gets real

Imagine the smell

>thousands of people are dying from this even by the PRC's fake, extreme lowball imaginary numbers
>nobody is dying from this
city cuck detected, keep that head in the sand

Kek. Do you think everyone lives in Hoth-like conditions?
I'm growing leek, potato, tomatoes (another two months in the hothouse), broad beans, cabbage, onions and carrots. I also have lemons most of the year and a lot of herbs.
I live in Mt Gambier, where winter temps can get down to 0C so producing is not an issue.

Get "easter eggers".
Each hen lays a different colored egg (but the individual always lays the same color), so its kind of random.
Pic from the interweb but I get all except the darkest one.

This better be a joke.

I'm moving back up there this year. I can't stand the summers here and I don't want to die until I see the Kenai peninsula and the Chugach mountains again. I haven't even eaten halibut since I was there.

What are some benefits of the chicken fence?

Not having your chickens picked off by predators, flying or otherwise. Idk about a hamster tunnel around the garden, possibly has something to do with keeping certain pests in check but I'm not sure.

>chicken tunnel protects them from predators and the chickens protect the garden from pests
This gets me hot, not gonna lie

Been growing stuff in my garden for a few years now got onions shallots and beets in cloching and tomatoes and a variety of herbs starting to sprout in the green house. Looking at getting into aquaponics soon.

Most of them won't leave the cities before it is too late and will be half starved by the time they decide to move.
They would hold out in the hope that the government will arrive any secound now and bring new food.

Sweet potato, taro, Kent & butternut pumpkin, leb cucumber, spinach, capsicum, 6 varieties of citrus on the tree here.

I have four laying chickens, for my household of two. Chickens are awesome. Super easy to care for, just make sure they're protected from hawks and coyotes and you're all good

Slugs and snails have to make it past the chickens, They don't.
Want to see a chicken flock chimp out? Toss in a handful of snails. Godcdamn do they love them.

What variety? I've had Australorps and Isa Browns are hardy and aggressive and lay lay lay. Its a GMO hybrid though so short lived in return for the extra production.
Australorps breed true but aren't as productive. Also prone to heat exhaustion as they have more and darker plumage.

Reminder that everyone can grow herbs for personal use. Not only do they save money and enhance your meals they are also healthy.

That’s no joke. I’ve seen eggs that look like that on a relatives farm, and they said the eggshells are naturally those colors. The hens diet seems to affect it.

>the average city cuck has 4 days of food on hand.
Really? Then I must be below average with less than 2 days' worth of food.

Wouldnt it be easier to just build a fence around the whole thing that also keeps out rabbits, deer, etc??? Seems like a lot of effort to make a little peremiter defence system thats only good for bugs and does nothing to defend the actual crops if anything gets through. Same materials even. Just slightly more of the chicken wire and get some 4x4 posts and a couple bags of concrete to set them.

Someone slap whoever built this, please.

Eggshell color is breed dependent. Their diet affects yolk color/richness.

ginger is toxic and destroys your body's cells it's essentially a slow acting poison garlic is too

>tfw don't have a garden
I was planning on moving this year and start my garden but then shtf. how fucked am I?

Attached: 1553574383421.jpg (560x612, 42.13K)

i have about 3 days worth i'm going to start stockpiling soon though

I want winter to fucking end.
I still have a couple feet of snow and it's like -3°C today.
I have chickens but I need to get my greenhouse and gardens going.
Rural NB is a good spot for the Boogaloo I guess. It would be nicer if it was warmer but anywhere nice has 10x the population.
Potatoes out the ass so I doubt anyone here will starve, most people are fat as fuck though so the sparse population is going to take a huge hit.

Hokay, pal

have you never been to the bottom 30% of the US? lmao - North Texas reporting in, winter is like 2 weeks long with overnight lows dipping into the 20's a couple times. It was already back up to 70 degrees in late Feb.

I'm afraid of ayylmao kidnapping, plus who knows what lurks in the wilderness.
But..choice between corona vs ayylmao vs skinwalker, I think i runaway from corona, other 2 can "negotiate".

Reminder to call all jews Metzitzah B'peh. It drives them insane and can never be banned for hate speech. Also if normies look it up they will see it's when rabbis suck baby dicks.

>buy some chickens
>buy
Just plant some eggs.

This t.b.h

I have the utmost respect for people who are able to live in a relative or total autarcy, but let's face it we are talking 1% of the population here.

Stop idealizing countryside and demonizing cities. Urbanites will have it easier because crisis logistics is much more easier to organize and you reach more people with less efforts.
