No. Either way I don't really care. If he exists, tough luck. If he doesn't, he doesn't.

I believe in God
Everything ultimately exists for one reason or another
Therefore it must be some sort of Creator, First Mover
This is how I see God
Thanks for existence Dad, it kind of sucks, we will talk in the afterlife
Ps
Pls create some anime big tiddy gf for me

Yes. The Universe could not have come about randomly, therefore there must have been a conscious creator.

I don't believe in God but existence is so entirely strange I'm questioning it. It's possible the universe was created naturally but it really wouldn't surprise me if there was some original being that created everything. If goes does exist it's not a man in the sky but closer to energy.

What happens to kids who die when they are 1?

Yes, life and existence could not exist without the force of some omniscient being. Science cant explain and any sort of philosophy cant either, it as simple as that

Do I believe in the God that is written in some random book made by humans? No because I have reason to believe it's true and it's just a way for people to cope with life.
Do I believe there might be something more to life than meets the eye? Perhaps.

strawpoll.me/19497791

And who created the conscious creator?
And who created that conscious creator?
And who created that conscious creator?
And who created that conscious creator?
And who created that conscious creator?

If you want to see some things that are unexplainable, watch this series. These things couldn't have been coincidence

another layer of concious creator

Energy, man in the sky, etc etc its all just human words describing the divine
Words are meaningless amyway, if we assume omniscience of God He knows whats up anyway

Yes because not a single atheist has ever managed to refute any points in this video

youtu.be/jZFGrNNjABQ

How can nothing lead to everything?

No because if there was a god it must be a pretty big idiot.
The world is proof of bad design and it seems as if it was not designed at all.

Please disprove the invincible monkey that follows me around.

Yes, because God as a concept goes far beyond the modern perverted understanding. The idea of God as a bearded man in the sky is Zeus, not Yahweh

Very clever, very clever indeed, Mr Atheist. But it's conscious creators all the way down

I believe in God but I believe he is a blind psychopath

Imo the universe being an external creation by higher entities seems more probable to me than "it came from nothing lel" Just as you were born from parents you too were born from god. Your biological parents performed the minimum duty of creating you as the "god(s)" performed theirs by creating the universe.

This. And what actually defines a God?

No monkey would follow someone so retarded they mistake invisible for invincible. Quod erat demonstrandum.

Reincarnation

>I believe he is a blind psychopath
Are you a misanthrope?

Sarcasm or not, the point is that it would be endless, there would be no beginning, in other words it's senseless and ridiculous, it would go on for infinity.

My monkey is undying and hides in the shadows.

If that means I'm not a jew then yes

If there is a god he is a gigantic asshole and I don't give a shit.
Imagine creating a world full of suffering, then get angry when people don't like it so he sends you to suffer even more for all eternity, all while knowing how it will play out, how fucked up can you get.
I'd rather not believe in a god or a creator because if I do I will do nothing but hate it.

The concept of time and a beginning and ending is a human concept created at the start of the universe. God himself is not bound by such concepts/laws seeing as he created it. God himself may be bound by unique existential problems outside the scope of our understanding.

>An atheist discovers the cosmological argument for the first time
Yeah. We know about the problem of infinite regress dude. It's typically atheists denying that there needs to be an unmoved mover, or uncaused cause. Not theists.

Probably the only semi correct answer if only Peterson then didn’t go on to then drop into apologetics. He just wants you to understand he’s religious for the intelligent reasons. That’s the only good kind even it’s if it’s not real.

>infinite turtles
Yay

Yes. Because this world is full of demons. I'm not a fan.

I define God as consciousness itself, with each individual as just one drop in an ocean. If consciousness "created" itself then it can be said God willed himself into existence

No it means you're anti-human

belief in god is irrelevant. what repulses me is the mysticism, asceticism, "deep" oriental wisdom, zealotry, anti-empiricism. religiousness is the problem, not some belief.

Yes because divine intervention exists but in much more subtle ways. You really think we evolved from fish when there’s not been a single link species found? The closest thing we have is prehistoric humans and guess what, they are still humans not hybrids. Adaptation is real. Trans-species? Not a single fucking thing of real evidence. Humans have been around for forever but at some point you lose all possible fossil evidence. If the world didn’t evolve from bacteria, then how did life get here???? God exists but it’s thru energy, not direct relationships from voices in the sky like the Bible says, which was written long after Jesus lived by men that never understood how god or Jesus worked

No, I don't.

Common reminder that atheists leaning on physics and quantum physics believe in following things, devoutionally

> all of energy has just started to oscillate in fabric of space by itself, without any external force affecting it
> all of energy just started to oscillate in different levels of magnitude by themselves
> all of energy has just born into emptiness of space out of nothing
> all of this energy just concentrated into an area smaller than an atom
> all of this energy did not just deflate into the fabric of space without an explosion as laws of entropy would dictate
> all of this energy with its multiple levels just suddenly multiplied its value via inflation and magnitude out of nowhere and without an external factor
> all of this is believed with religious fervour to be true because an unproven physical theory says so

How is this not a similar type of religious theoretical conclusion as a theological or philosophical conclusion would be?
> but science actually uses evidence to support their theories
none of these physical theories points I just listed have ever been proven to be true through any experiment and only mere conclusions with no difference to any theological conclusions.

> muh quantum foam (fluctuations)
this has been already proven to be utter bollocks thanks to showing, that space is not grainy as has been previously thought by testing the theory with other particles than just photons
> muh multiverses
this has been proven to be a mere meme and an outdated trend of Atheist Church thanks to gravity wave observations that proved that gravity (and hence any matter) cannot leak into another dimension

It's commonly known that atheists consider every individual moral to be equally valid when comparing morals against each other. This opens the following question: what is the determinant of good and evil?
Well for atheists it is feelings of course, since every moral is equally valid, but which one can consider PERSONALLY superior, are those that they feel good about.
This means an atheist individual has no moral hierarchy over another individual, since every personally superior moral is equally good.

And hence, atheists of Yas Forums have absolutely no moral high ground nor authority to prevent their sons from whoring themselves to niggers in exchange of a bag of heroine.
After all, the sons could consider both the hedonistic sexual submissivity and drug consumption good on their own, personal moral level.

> muh God's real only through circular logic
Do me a favour lad and explain the existence of logic without circular reasoning.

Yes. How do you explain things like this without a divine holy power?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miracle_of_the_Sun

The guy runnig that is a jew.

Suffering brings greatness thou. The biggest human accomplishments happen after suffering. Stop thinking that god cares about each individual person and moment and look at the greater good that’s achieved. The world is better than it ever has been in the history of time for humans but people are greedy and still want more while living in a plushy house with plenty to eat and clean water. Ungrateful assholes are what make people think they are suffering

No.

Religion is a tool to control the masses. Anyone who believes in any ideology is a slave.

Yes, I do believe in God. I believe in God because it matches my life experiences and I find it to be much more likely. I'm one of the the Zoroastrian members here.

Can't tell if acting stupid or being stupid.

Nobody believes in a man in the sky; this is an atheist caricature.

Yes, definitely. I've seen and been through too much to think otherwise.

Don't do religion, here's my story.

In 2008 I meditated and achieved union with a God higher than the god of the bible I knew.
I explored religion and something very particular happens.
Religions are methods of locking you into a path, they have psycho-spiritual and even sometimes physical mechanisms to lock and chain you into the system, this translates the following way, for example, let's suppose you are a christian, you will feel psycho-spiritually well or bad depending on how you go in your path, furthermore, if you are to receive signs, you will experience sings pertaining to christianity, if you are marked for hell you might see visions of christian demons, and if you are marked for "heaven" you will see depending on denominations Jesus, Mary, saints and so on.
What happens if you switch religions and get visions again? You might see buddha, demonic beings from hinduism, or even a troupe of gods showing up as demons if you figure out it must be the gnostic gospels.

It works pretty much like a simulation, you may see things, you may experience things, you will see people acting this or that way and saying this or that, all prepped to lead you into such or that belief and religion.

Get out of their systems, and meditate, be selfish and do not assume a spiritual doctrine.

And you'll win!

I agree with you 100% except the logic part. Logic is found thru experimentation, trial and error and survival of the fittest is real and not even a god or religious argument. It just shows the right and wrong morals. God wants us to live so what makes us truly live is godlike which is logical

Wat? The bible personifies god as a man. Who the fuck do you think Jesus is?

It’s only natural evolution intelligence maturity occurs the question is has it happened in history ever before. And can we honestly answer this. If survival is granted where does evolution intelligence maturity take us? When it comes to history what do we really know apart from something from nothing. It’s more likely evolutionary advancement is in a loop.

Attached: 1583179529393.jpg (663x972, 163.37K)

Sounds like you have a dumb interpretation of the Bible. I'm not surprised, though.

>Who do you think Jesus is
Are you asking me personally, or from a Christian perspective?

Is it just me, or are atheists especially retarded lately? Something happened in the last few years, it seems they have gotten lazy and spiteful and somehow worse at arguing. At least back in the day of youtube atheism being more of a thing you might get someone who knew some kind of serious arguments, but reading this thread, the atheists are not sending their best and brightest. Embarrassing.

the reality is a lot more depressing and also calming
at one point you will realize that the truth is that "god" does not just exist, it is literally you and everything else you can see. it plays all the roles and it exists as all things as it tries to experience manyness, because it otherwise would just float somewhere and exist without any purpose whatsoever. and then you realize that this is a game originally intended to do fun stuff, but then you also realize that in this process there are literal faggots like here from Yas Forums who enjoy nothing but fucking up the experience for the rest of the facets or the creator, trying to enslave them or torture them with whatever they feel like is a good thing at the moment.

Both.

Morals are rooted in evolution. We have evolved to feel bad when we do things that (generally speaking) go against the survival of our genes/ tribes.

I believe in the prospects of evolutionary development. Humans have been granted the ability to reproduce or to create life. This is universal. Life has many shapes and forms. What is the maximum form or maximum output is God the great survivor and sanctuary. Does God continue to evolve. Is evolution and God connected. Is the best way to get information via correspondence? Our baseline is survival to become more intelligent and reach a greater value intelligence. Why have immune systems and why does the age of life increase with intelligence?

>Morals are rooted in evolution.
Yes user, we evolved to turn the other cheek and forgive always.

They've been like that since at least the 2000s, user.

>who do I think
A wise man, a spiritual teacher, who may have had a close connection to God, who used the teachings of the local people but clearly had beef with their religion and spoke with enough authority to challenge it - to consider him as observantly religiously Jewish when he spoke with the authority as he did (using terms that make him speak with the authority of the OT God) would be unreasonable. It's easier to believe he taught something contrary to Judaism as they - and indeed we, acknowledging the split between modern and ancient Judaism - understand it now.

>Christian
The incarnation of God on Earth; the second hypostasis of the Ousia that is the Trinitarian God.

Also, the whole "atheists think all morals are equal" thing is a huge fucking meme and just goes to show that you haven't actually read much about the topic.

That's the religious take of god. The concept of god goes beyond a mere skyman. We're talking about a potential entity or force that created our universe. Humanity may be a mere frog in the ocean, why must we believe we are the dominate intelligence in the universe and then on? It's like the people with aliens, they only can believe what they see and not that is reasonable when this universe has HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS of galaxies and you can't believe in the possibly of life occurring once more in this impossibly large plentiful forest? We're only ants in our hills or meerkats in our dens. The problem is that humanity has epicified god to the point of unbelievability. It or they is performing it's function just as we are.

No- It's a needless extra baggage. If there is a god, and if one day he will announce himself in a very deterministic way, I'll believe in him then.
>But the window of opportunity to become a believer would have closed by then
Then we are not talking a benevolent god then, but rather a Loki-like deceptive SOB!

I have never in my life been greedy and now after all this time I have come to understand that is my greatest mistake, I was raised catholic with catholic values, I was taught that if I pray and I was a good person god would reward me, so I lived like that, never demanding and always giving when I could.
My dad left us for the US when I was very young, I was taught to never hate him, I never demanded anything from my mom or from life in general because I knew how hard it was for her, and I never got anything back.
I have tried to live content my whole life, trying to be happy with what I had and I have found nothing but suffering, I don't know what love is because I never sought for it, it never found me.
I have lived my life doing nothing but wanting to live in peace and all that came from living like this was suffering in the form of health problems, seeing the people around me suffering while not being able to do anything about it and even some people around me taking what little I have.
Where is god in all of this? What good are "his" teachings? I am now a crippled human, unable to be greedy because I simply don't know how, I cannot lie, I cannot take from others and all I receive is suffering.

How common is atheism in Egypt now?

No because there's zero evidence for one.

You wouldn't exist if God didn't

Because no one can prove it. Because every possible universe has a chance of 0% of happening doesn't mean it was designed/created, in fact yes the chances that this specifically configuration of atoms is 0% but so any universe has the same chances, so I believe it was chance/coincidence/luck, and not a creator.

>most people use the term god so they can smuggle in some personalized diety
The bigger question in such threads would be why people think the creator is also a personal god, that cares about your exams enough that you should pray to him

Something from nothing is not a good argument. Neither is the theory of the Big Bang. Whatever ignited the universe as a baseline is of greater value metrics. I think religion and evolution are linked as are most things in life. I use evolution to get to a conclusion if impossible reality based with proof in human evolution and development. Survival is paramount for anything of greater value. If it can ignite the process of course the value is always greater than that which is manifested it takes intelligence to create intelligence using AI as an example.

What research have you done into this?

this post is german in so many ways.
one thing is
> every moral is equally valid
an whole different thing is
> high ground nor authority to prevent their sons
deeming morality relative doesn't keep me from judging what to i deem good or bad for myself or my son. just, i don't need someone other (the comminity) to preventively agree with me about that. a moral atheist knows his values depend on his culture/taste, but doesn't minimize it, rather, he follows it.
