How do I deal with it? I worked hard for 10 years, bought a house and car with zero debt. Now all I worry about is property tax and bills, which arent all that much. Granted I'm single so that also keeps costs under 150 bucks a month, 230 if you include groceries.

There are chemist positions in my area requiring chemistry BS but paying $16/hr and 90% of the work is lifting 45 lb sacks, 10% lab tests. other labs are paying the same people $14/hr. I just applied to be their supervisor. I think it'll only pay $20/hr. I was a research scientist who got lucky I supposed and got to $63k/year after multiple raises (pretty cheap area too, nothing like a big city) but have just been laid off.
