Currently there is $325 million locked up in two classes of pandemic bonds that were created by the World Bank in 2017 as part of the Pandemic Emergency Financing Facility (PEF).

Class A, $225 million, lower risk, pays out at 7% interest rate per year.

Both bond clases reach maturity in July of 2020, when the will pay back their principle investment to the investors.

Now here's what I think is the really concerning thing, 14.4% of Class A investment came from pension funds. 42% of the higher risk Class B came from pension funds. And who exactly does decide if these bonds are triggered? No one. It is not the WHO declaring a pandemic that triggers the payout, its the stipulations in the bonds themselves.

There is also $105 million in derivative SWAPS backing up these pandemic bonds. Which to the best of my understand are basically credit-default swaps on these bonds that will pay out to their investors in the event that the pandemic bonds are triggered.
The while thing is a racket, and the scope of how it is going to blow up is unfathomable. The Class B bonds should already have payed out, since their triggering conditions were met, and not to mention that emergency money in a possible pandemic situation is most useful BEFORE the outbreak is uncontainable.

TL;DR: Someone is going to make a fuck ton of money when these bond provisions inevitably trigger, given that many of the triggers HAVE ALLREADY BEEN MET. The investors holding them know this and they are trying to dump them, but the prices on the secondary market are plummeting faster than they can sell them. When the bonds trigger alot of pension funds in the US, but mostly Europe (pic related) are going to dissapear. Its all a fucking scam the World Banks set up for itself.
