I used to be a janitor of the not doing it for free variety at a school, it would be insanity to keep schools open if a student came down with the virus.
Simply put there isn't enough man power to keep the place sterile, we're talking typically one or two guys per school to clean the entire building every night. The thing that many people don't understand is if they close the schools it will require many parents to take time off work to be with their children and further straining the system. Also many employers won't allow more than a couple days at a time off for reasons like this.
