Look at what it would take for a German to migrate to the US. The requirements are insane. Only 100k Germans "migrates to the US" in the last 10 years and 92k of them came back. So it was mostly short time stays possible for work/studying. That's only 800 people per year on average who make it to the US permanently. Just think about how insane this is given that 800 Mexicans can arrive in a caravan on any given day in California and just live there without fear of deportation.
