I love all music besides nigz bop, so I usually go through 2 or so month long phases of listening to a specific genre. Most recently I have been listening to hit blues artists such as Cash and Vaughan. I do like edm as well and, during my binge of blues artists, I decided to give a new edm song a listen (techno prank by dubdogz). I enjoy the song, but transitioning from blues that's filled with soul to edm made me realize that, although many edm artists are extremely talented, unless you have some sort of prodigy the heart and soul put into the music just doesnt come out when theres a computer in between the artist and listener, rather than an instrument. Computers work on a quantum/digital system, and humans work on a continuous/analog system. I just think the heart and soul of an analog system (people) is lost in translation when using a digital system (the comouter program that actually is responsible for the sounds the artist creates) as an intermediate.
Whether or not this is by design is another debate, but I feel that it heavily contributes to the soullessness most of us currently feel in modern society.
Does modern music contribute to a soulless society?

You aren't listening to the right music. This song is about the goyim rebelling.
You are the great betrayers.
The wretches of the Earth.
Hailing with the torches
As you watch your bridges burn.
Perched upon the spires.
Towers built of filth.
Insipid your desires.
Unbearable your guilt.
Rise!
I herald the coming of the age.
When masters of the Earth
Become their captor's slaves.
We fed your weakened bodies.
We kept you from the cold.
Now you curse and spit upon me.
Now your treacheries unfold.
Empty path unwinding.
A frozen deadened star.
Closing of the circle.
Returning what is ours.
Rise!
I herald the coming of the age.…
I do feel the same, it just doesn’t compare. I mean electronic music is good to dance to but i cant enjoy it by myself with just the music. Idk man, though there are still contemporary artists that make good meaningful music their numbers are certainly fleeting, with most of them being pretentious twats. So generally music right now is just another reflection of the general trend culture is heading towards.
Forgot the other half
When masters of the Earth
Become their captor's slaves.
Rise!
You, masters of the Earth.
The ones who gave you life
Will watch your temples burn.
Rise!
You, masters of the Earth.
The ones who gave you life
Will watch your temples burn.
Post your last fm or top artists that you’ve been listening to in the past month.
This song is about forcing a young girl to enjoy having sex with you.
Fun fact, I wrote the tab for this song on ultimate guitar
>the comouter program that actually is responsible for the sounds the artist creates
You can say the same thing about "traditional" instruments you fag
Computers are just another kind of instrument for musicians to play and master
Hey there riding hood
Won't you please meet the wolf
Would let me come inside
Let me under, under the covers
Let me come between your thighs
I know when you squirm like a little girl
I know your addicted
Hey there riding hood
Won't you please meet the wolf
I swear i'll make you feel all right
Make your flowers bloom
Make your honey flow
Be your black dog scratching at your door
I know when you squirm like a little girl
I know your addicted
I know when you squirm like a little girl
I know your addicted
Hey there riding hood
Won't you please meet the wolf
Would you like laying with the devil
Even though just a beginner
Turn you into a sinner
Be your lover forever and ever
I know when you squirm like a little girl
I know your addicted

This whole fucking album is about barbarian style rape and pillage. Came out 5 years ago. youtu.be
Most analog instruments are processed digitally with a 44.1 kHz sampling rate, basically making it continuous.
Gtfo with your rape pedo shit. First song was decent. Not clicking on your pedofag songs tho
Wow you sure are fucking stupid
A basic drum is a binary instrument. Anything can be a musical instrument, even you're arsehole can be used as musical instrument. I bet you don't even play music and you prolly listen to Kesha
"young" doesn't mean "child"
Did you even listen to it?
Analog == continuous, but I'm assuming you meant digital? Interesting thought I would still think the computer is bound by the inputs though as well, not just the outputs. Whereas the player of a guitar can still play acoustically, the edm artist cannot as he is bound by the inputs of the pc
Theodor adorno the kike frankfurt school intellectual said that music must be scientifically engineered to demoralize rather than uplift so that we can bring in the communist revolution.
Popular music is literally designed around LUFS streaming penalties that youtube/spotify/itunes apply to uploads, which is a mystery algorithm that detects whether music is psychoacoustically perceived as louder than it is.
The reason for trap/mumble rap/reggaeton and lots of recurring sounds and breathy singing is because industry insiders who ghostwrite the songs know how to cheat the LUFS/perceived loudness penalties that have come into force in the past 4-5 years.
Basically the louder something is, the "better" it sounds, it jumps out relative to what the last track was playing if it is louder. Which means more clicks/engagements and more money.
They also make songs shorter because attention spans are dropping and artists make more money when the listener listens to a song from start to finish.
It's all about money based on data to maximize profits, not about the music anymore.
I wouldn't necessarily call it modern music, modern music and electronic music are separate categories. Electronic music is easy to make but playing any music instrument is like composing music, some people just cannot do it well. I've heard soulful electronic and terrible violin solos it really boils down to society and the individual. 90s electronic music is really soulful it's just that every zoomer in the world thinks he can become a DJ at coachella because he pirated FL Studio then he breaks into the scene and acts like the poser he is. I've seen it plenty of times
Yes, but not because of the tools used. Music can serve as a stream for behavior, thoughts, and emotion. When 90% of the music is full of hedonistic shit, that kind of stuff becomes normalized at a very fast rate I believe.
what you're describing is the end of musicians gathering together in studios to record as cohesive band members to collaborate on music with producers and mixing board professionals that requires. This requires inspiration, creativity, timing, craft, and a million other human nuances that computers destroy.
Modern pop music is basically done on some random assholes laptop playing who's sitting home alone playing with Fruityloops and Pro Tools. Naturally the end product (and that's what it is - "product" as opposed to music) is cleansed of everything including its soul. The result just bare essential beats and hooks meant to entertain low IQ masses.
Of course you can hear the difference

Good point
CDs can sound better than vinyl its just that people can get away with being more lazy in mastering on CD than vinyl if you mess up too much on vinyl the needle will skip off the record. Like world music, there was one particular group that specialized in playing buddhist instrumentals it sounded terrible on vinyl half of what would be audible was cut out but on the CD it was like you were in the same room with the artists (if you have a decent sound setup)
When I say "louder" I mean perceived loudness.
If you hear the sound of a binaural recording of a jet fighter it will instinctively make you brace for a very loud sound an perceive it as much louder than an equally loud sound on peak/RMS meters.
The sound of a babies cry is around 3.5khz, adult speech is most legible around 1khz, they apply penalties and turn down music uploads based on algorithms that detect the engineer boosting these areas and sounds that sustain peaks in these regions.
Like there are ways to cheat automatic content recognition that scans for copyright infringement, the insiders know what sounds can get that perceived loudness without tripping LUFS sensors on streaming services because they get access to how the algorithm works, like match-fixing but for music.
That's why the music is so shit because it's about maximizing profits.

Listen here shitskin, I dont know how long you've been speaking English, but in the lord's tongue, "girl" can mean any female. From newborn to elderly. Дeвoчки и жeнщины.
Based music from before punk rock was for faggots
I only listen to refined music of old, like Mozart

If someone really prefers analog over electronic music who am I to say you're wrong but don't say that electronic music is inherently bad. It's just not true and also boomer talk. When Gen X starting making trance music in the 90s (which is a very white genre of music) the boomers literally complained about it for decades because it didn't have a guitar in it. Don't be like that, just realize that music doesn't pay anymore like it used too. Being an expert musician in classical, ancient traditional, or jazz hardly pays and you rarely get recognition for your talents.
I've always preferred Beethoven. His struggles with women in particular are what really made his music stand out to me. Fur Elise for example.
>be Beethoven
>git good at piano
>write a piece to impress some qt girl named elise
>play it for her
>you aren't a nobleman so she doesnt care
>marries some guy no one remembers instead
>never publish her song because it doesnt matter
>like 50 years after your death the sheet music is found in a box of your shit
>gets published
>is good enough to be listened to and played even today
>but wasn't good enough fur elise
Never said electronic was bad. I enjoy it quite a bit. I just noticed it feels relatively soulless when juxtaposed against more traditional artists
It's a good thing based zoomers are making soulful music and using the internet to spread it

Yas Forumss theme
Our soulless society creates modern music
With music, you can control and trigger the subconscious. It’s the ultimate weapon. Movies, news and shows are secondary.
It's true but a lot of classical music is made be souless chinks which is something to keep in mind. If you heard classical made by it's respective ethnicity and nationality compared to chinks it's a huge difference
youtube.com
This performed my Mediterranean white people from like spain and such. Very lively music
Traditional instruments allow an unconscious feel to transfer from your body through the instrument into sound. Computers lack that dimension, and always sound sterile. It’s like removing non verbal cues from communication.
Zoomers can't make vaporwave. I call it zoomerwave. they are ruining the genre with their bullshit
This is THE whitest of white music. It is impossible to say otherwise.
Hmmm... Good song, commenters say she was already engaged?
youtube.com
At least zoomers aspire for an ideal, people from the millennial generation did not and if fucked society.
Casually Listing to funeral music is bad for your chi
I think its a feedback loop. Soulless music creates a soulless society and a soulless society is attracted to (and creates) a soulless music. You can see the same thing in physical modern art
>ideal
I dunno they sound awfully idealistic wanting to vote for Bernie Sanders. Most zoomers are athiestic sciencefags. At least a much larger percentage of athiest millennial identify as spiritual in some sense.
Pretty much user
Thinking there is anything other than bleak struggle and death in your life is plain denial. Turn and face it.
I liked both of those. I don't feel the need to pick one. They both made me feel things just different things.
This is also a really good song. I wrote the tab for it too. I didn't do the backwards sounding guitar though. I keep thinking I need to sit down and do it but never get around to it.
No I'm serious it is bad for your chi. If you want to face the tough things in life you need more earth element sounding music in your life because it grounds you into reality
Chi is an eastern style philosophy I dont subscribe to
Something having "soul" is Chi or being "Comfy" is having chi. Chi is a sense of livliness and vitality to music but somethings are soulful in different senses. Sometimes it is passionate and "firey" sometimes it is healing (like plants/natural remedies) sometimes things invoke a sense of wisdom or spirituality wich is water based. Water based chi invokes sadness because of the association with wisdom. Combine that with earth chi and you get a grounded view of wisdom wich includes life and death. This stuff was standard in ancient Greek philosophy it's just that they had different words for it
Look into the law of attraction
People don't know this but the kick and snare drum in Smells Like Teen Spirit aren't "real", they're from Lexicon digital delay units repurposed as samplers that trigger the kick and snare using the kick and snare channels in the original take by Dave Grohl as gate/CV voltages to trigger the samples at different volumes depending on how loud he hit the drums and that was mixed in with the hi-hat and overheads/cymbals.
What people think is 'analog' or real music is to do with the physicality and spontaneity of musicianship. A midi keyboard or a mouse drawing in squares in logic/ableton does not give you an instant sensory feedback of vibration that you feel in your body as you are composing - whereas a guitar/drums/vocals have infinite ways of expressing what is in your mind at the time.
Singers intuitively add growls, vibrato and sighs for effect based on the lyrics or the feeling of the music. Guitar players know subconsciously how hard to pick, whether alternate strumming of chords or repeated downstrokes/upstrokes fits the feeling, amplifiers and pedals are very simple to dial in based on what you feel.
A midi keyboard and/or synthesizer usually registers just pitch, how hard you hit the key which usually is routed to volume, a pitch bend wheel and a mod wheel. You can put breath controllers in and sustain/expression pedals in but it's clunky and cluttered to use.
It doesn't feel the same as when you play a piano and can actually feel the overtones resonate through your body, even though you get far more choice with synths/samplers in sound design.
Actually, this is very likely related to meme magic
Instrumental inspiring no vocal music is the white mans creation, not mumble nig rap
nigs make good music, especially street nigs. they live unvarnished they tell it real. it's meritocratic too. you rise on your abilities
Nobody here is denying that live music is the best and having a better sound system is closer to that ideal. But to say a guitar IRL is inherently better than a digital synthesizer is just ignoring other important variables, like having skill or being cultured, or being creative or being passionate
kek
I agree, but I hate autotune. I like the most niggerish of gangster rap. The more niggerish the better. Except I just don't get autotune.
