You're right that breast milk is best for digestion and for nutrient transfer but your claim about immunities is false.
Gut bacteria is largely transferred during gestation and birth. After that it comes from communal sharing of food or from mouth transfer.
Immunities from Mother only help in the short term. Exposure to low levels of bacteria and other pathogens are what help build a strong immune system.
When possible a child should be kept on breast milk for as long as possible. I would say even past your 1 year mark but that doesn't mean that other things shouldn't be introduced.
When it comes to a healthy digestive system variety is best.

Yes, obviously you can't rely on children (especially boys) to be 100% fed on breast milk past the 6 month-mark. The point here is that most parents ditch breastfeeding for the bottle ASAP, or sometimes, as soon as they are born, which makes for children not having mom's antibodies to help fight infections.

Also, breast milk still has immunoglobulins. The longer the children breastfeeds, the longer these immunization levels persist. And I also agree with a healthy varied diet to help children not develop allergies and contact with as many types of food as possible past the 6-month age (with several exceptions). My point is breast milk is arguably more important than even vaccinating your children. If you ask a doctor if they had to choose either, they would choose breastfeeding all the time (that is, a competent doctor not dictated by the WHO).

Actually it's a curve. Most important breastfeeding period is 6 months. If the baby weens off at 6 months, it's not the same difference as 1 year. Each 3-month period is increasingly important, as a child that breastfed for one year would have little difference from a other that breastfed for two years, all other variables equally being considered, but from 9 months to 12 it is quite an important difference.

After a certain point , probably close to a year, breastfeeding stops being important for nutrional reasons, but it stays important because skin on skin contact between mother and infant is an extremely important time for both the mother and child. It solidifies the bond the mother has towards her child and for the child it gives them a sense of security and allows for them to develop intellectually and socially. see: bowlby experiments

I really kind of get annoyed when people say "well all kids eventually catch up :)" when that's really not true at all but it's something people say to make retard parents not feel bad or allow them to acknowledge their negligence towards their babby cost their babby 10 IQ points.
