it has a roughly 24 day incubation period. It was already spread out across the world(partially due to trade, partially due to Chinese overseas students, and partially to tourists)

I know you will hate my post because it lacks both conspiratory content and alarmism, but this virus really is just the flu, albeit a more contagious one. If you look at the numbers, the death rate is similar to other strains, the only difference is it's incubation period and ability to survive on surfaces under the right conditions (which by the way are found this time of the year on most of the northern hemisphere) makes it a lot easier to spread, so yeah the death toll will be high but that's because so many people will be infected by it. It's still very low risk unless you're 80+.

As for Chinese censorship and reaction to the initial outbreak: they didn't know what they were dealing with. Once the virus started spreading like wildfire they thought it might have a mortality similar to SARS and that would indeed be catastrophic if it were the case.

Check how many old people die from various strains of the flu every single year. Now imagine every single year a scary name was given to each of those strains and a media circus was set up around it, every day would be happening day.

I say it almost seems like they want it to spread, all these stories on the news about how they let cruise passengers go to public spaces, people who were quarantined on airplanes also being let go and then the CDC later regretting letting them go despite testing positive for the virus, to me makes me believe they are allowing this to get worse on purpose so the government can exercise emergency powers. Trump continually insisting its a nothing burger though it would be interesting to see the preparatory reactions his cabinet members.

The CSP knew about it probably around mid November or so. And the coverup started then. It took 2 months for the cases to be internationally known and the coverup of juat how bad it was started then. Month 3 is when it blew up.
The Chinese travelled all over globe starting first week of January or so. So the virus could be in Europe and other countries since the early January. Which means we are on the month 2 of this. One more month and that's when it will blow up.

Our stupid leaders think that this will die like SARScoV died in 20p3. Weather had much more to do with that SARS dying that the scientists that did NOT really contain it, want to admit. The problem is that SARScoV of 2003 spread almost completely in the northern hemisphere (pic related) so when the sputhern hemisphere got cold there was not enough infected (that were also isolated and identified) to spread the corus. Another difference was that the first SARS was only infectious when the symptoms already showed up, so it was easier to identify the infected. So this is why I don't believe this will be the case here, but obviously I'm a nobody so no government will listen to me and stop counting on a miracle.

Just to add: I know that there's a theory that they had something to do with the release. They did not. They just took what people were already saying and kind of presented it as their idea.
