the thing with corona that makes it almost impossible to treat t home is that once you develop pneumonia (which you inevitably will) your blood oxygen levels drop to 85% and bellow, at which point you need to be connected to the blood oxygenation machine, otherwise you'll suffocate and even if you pull it of somehow and survive, the brain damage from low oxygen is very likely. So you're either risking to die or to survive as a cripple. In any case i wouldn't risk it, call your local ER tell them about the symptoms, and if you don't feel better by the day after tomorrow, go to ER. Pneumonia develops after 4-6 days of fever so you have that window of opportunity to get yourself checked in.

i think it's something like 99.9%. Usually when it comes to cold and flu, you develop pneumonia as a result of secondary bacterial infection. the thing with covid2 is that the virus itself causes pneumonia, so antibiotics are useless. doctors still prescribe them to treat eventual secondary bacterial infection, but they have no impact whatsoever on pneumonia caused by the virus.

that is the greatest challenge with covid2.. Pretty much every person diagnosed with it will end up needing oxygenation machine, the blood oxygen levels will drop, the question is just how much. Some people will retain 90%, smokers certainly wont. When they say 'some people are at greater risk' this is what they mean.
