Not sure, I think it's reasonable to say that if we never had a bronze age and therefore never really leaned into metallurgy as a path forward and instead focused on say, stone tools and perfecting stonework, just had a race of cavemen that perfected everything they were already doing and saw no reason to change, and kept doing this for maybe even 50,000 years, it's not unlikely to think that you might eventually figure out all these properties of stone.
