I used to work on the road all the time and went to over 35 states in the US. One time, I got sent to Sheridan, WY. Middle of nowhere and had to fly in to Billings, Montana and then drive a couple hours down the road to it. When I first got there, I noticed how there was pretty much nothing there that I'm used to. However, instead of doing the usual delivery food service to hotel every night, I went out to a local restaurant every evening. On my free day, I rode up in to Bighorn. Long story short, it ended up being in my top three places I ever went. The town is surrounded by the beautiful Bighorn Mountains and every morning/evening had a stunning sunrise and sunset. I'm planning to return one day and maybe make a trip out to Yellowstone from there as well.

They do this every single fucking time. Instead of plowing and salting the roads they close everything down and trap everyone in Cheyenne and Evanston and then they open the roads after 12 hours or so and everyone is speeding to get the fuck out before they close the roads again leading to this mess. They’re closing it again and now have to take 90. Fuck.

Very true. If I go back, I would stay at the Sheridan Inn. It was designed and managed by Buffalo Bill Cody and hosted some well known guests. I stayed at chain hotel while there, but passed by that inn every day while going to work. It's such a cool, western town if you're in to that sort of thing.
