Okay. Honestly guys. How do you watch subbed anime? I can't stand it. It's torturous to have to pay attention all the time.
>it's dubbed. I don't have to pay attention, I can read shit on my other monitor or play video games. >it's a manga I can just read faster(Speedreader™) if it gets slow and boring. >it's a sub. There is nothing I can do, I've tried FUCKING everything.
I've tried watching it at 2x speed and it works somewhat, but then I might miss something when I change the music on spotify, alt-tab because something happened on a Twitch stream or I have to read something in a video game. I've also tried only watching the anime for 5 minute intervals, before switching to something else when my attention deteriorates, but I almost always forget what was happening when I return.
>Any tips? How do you deal with this bullshit? You could try killing yourself. :3
Caleb Brown
>I don't have to pay attention If you aren't paying attention, then why are you watching the show in the first place?
Samuel Johnson
Learn Japanese
Mason Williams
Have you tried not having ADHD?
Daniel Carter
I was going to respond seriously to this until I read >i dont have to pay attention You're fucking retarded. It's a visual medium - not watching causes you to lose 90% of what's even happening in the story. If you're watching or reading something that's so disinteresting that you want to look away, just stop reading or watching that thing. If your brain is so completely blown-out on dopamine from exposure to entertainment media that you can't focus on one thing at a time, literally seek help.
This isn't an issue for an intelligent and/or otherwise healthy individual.
Jason Lopez
I don't literally pay "no attention". my attention jumps back and forth. I don't pay attention but then if something happens I tune in. unironically considering this.
Brody Evans

>Any tips? How do you deal with this bullshit?
Not doing 4 things at once?
James Edwards
you have brain damage
Angel Ward
>You're fucking retarded. It's a visual medium - not watching causes you to lose 90% of what's even happening in the story No it doesn't. I can confidently say that when I watch something and I don't have to read the text I get what is happening most of the time.
Nathaniel Foster
>I've tried watching it at 2x speed What the fuck? Why? Is your brain so fried that you need things to be going at light speed to focus? You won't be able to read and see what's going on like that. > I might miss something when I change the music on spotify, alt-tab because something happened on a Twitch stream or I have to read something in a video game. Why are you watching anime in the background? >I've also tried only watching the anime for 5 minute intervals, before switching to something else when my attention deteriorates, I'm fucking baffled as to why you watch anime when you don't actually watch it. If you're not paying full attention to the show, why are you watching it? You won't appreciate it.
Aaron Ward
What OP is really saying >I can't read

the absolute state of you zoomers
Try reading a book, you'll learn patience in time
Nolan Gray
>it's a visual medium - not watching >when I watch something and I don't have to read the text now I know you're actually fucking retarded, you argued against a point this other chap never even made.
Isaac Gonzalez
you genuinely sound like you have some sort of problem you might want to go for the doctor for
Jordan Howard
>It's torturous to have to pay attention all the time. This is your brain on porn addiction
Jayden Cooper
I am hoping this guy is shitposting because 2x speed is just some reddit meme people like to joke about right. I mean don't the voices get higher when you increase the speed that seems like a horrible way to watch shows.
Lucas Roberts
>What the fuck? Why? Is your brain so fried that you need things to be going at light speed to focus? It's not that unusual, though? Youtube have a easily accessible tool to speed up all their videos. They wouldn't have it if people don't use it. >Why are you watching anime in the background? No,no you misunderstand me. I have the Twitch stream in the background on low volume so I can quickly access it if something happens.
Parker Williams
you are simply the product of adhd and growing up entirely with the web2.0 internet and as such you dont deserve to enjoy anything meaningful
Landon Harris
>I am hoping this guy is shitposting because 2x speed is just some reddit meme people like to joke about right. I mean don't the voices get higher when you increase the speed that seems like a horrible way to watch shows. No? You can watch the same amount in half the time. super efficient.
Jeremiah Edwards
Just watch dubs.
Ayden Lewis
>Youtube have a easily accessible tool to speed up all their videos. They wouldn't have it if people don't use it. Bruv, please don't tell me you're watching death note in 360p on youtube divided into 10 parts per episode.
Idk. I think I’m one of those types that can read things super fast when it pops up so I can’t relate to people who have issues with subs
Ian Gutierrez
why not watch everything at 8x then
Blake Williams
On the flip side, watching normie Youtube at 1.25x is worth it, because people talk so slowly.
Caleb Gomez
But your brain can't process the information as well. Sure, if you're watching some vapid shit like Naruto or One Piece you could get away with it but anything with some degree of depth won't be nearly as enjoyable. I hate to ask you this, but what do you watch generally, and how do you watch it?
Chase Peterson
I watched a the last few episodes of Mushishi in 2x speed. Shit was so boring and I just wanted it to end. Never done it for anything else though.
Thomas Anderson
>No,no you misunderstand me. I have the Twitch stream in the background on low volume so I can quickly access it if something happens.
If you can observe it in any way you're fucked
Asher Stewart
No I don't. I'm just using youtube as an example for a speed control tool that is widely accessible. 8x is too fast. 2.25x is perfection imo.
Nice bait, but in case you're not baiting, you should consider suicide, watching anime is not about being "efficient".
Gavin Mitchell
>I hate to ask you this, but what do you watch generally, and how do you watch it? I generally don't watch anime because dubs sound like shit and subs sucks for reasons stated above, but my favorites are black lagoon and NGE for anime and Monster is my favorite manga. >If you can observe it in any way you're fucked What do you mean? >watching anime is not about being "efficient". You're right, but it's also more fun to watch it at higher speeds since there is less downtime.
Sebastian Hughes
I always thought casuals don't actually watch anime except for big shounens and when it comes to other anime they just parrot the opinions of their favorite e-celebs like it's fact, like they watched the show through them. The state of casuals is much worse than I thought if this is representative of them.
Jose Morgan
It seems like you only know how to watch things as background noise. You honestly might have ADD or something. Learning how to focus on one thing might be good for you, but if you truly can't then anime might just be something you can't enjoy.
Kevin Phillips
>I can read shit on my other monitor or play video games. >read faster(Speedreader >watching it at 2x speed WTF is wrong with americans?
Aiden Cruz
I bet you’re one of those fuckers that is constantly on their phone during a film
Daniel Reyes
You most definetly have ADHD, so go get prescriptions for some meds i dunno lol
Carson Rivera
>It's torturous to have to pay attention all the time. Maybe Marvel movies and the trending Netflix show of the week are more your speed
Zoomers are a cancer on this planet Gen X failed as parents
Gavin Jackson
Good bait.
Christian Perez
>You honestly might have ADD or something. Yeah, I've heard that before, my HS english teacher wanted me to get checked for it when I was drawing dicks on the wall instead of paying attention in class. I am. :(
fucking yankees, you dont watch movies in another language too? get used to it, its not that hard.
Jose Roberts
That’s probably just a case of the gays
Owen Bailey
i took jap for 5 years so i can dick around and still understand most of what they're saying. i've also legitimately gotten better at speedreading through subs. i can remember the look of a sentence and then go back to watching the show as my brain parses out what i saw
