Volume 3: Finally bringing a conclusion to the Prologue & Trost Arc, I bring you the 4th volume in the immensely popular manga: Shingeki no Kyojin. In Volume 3, Eren learned of his titan powers and was rescued from execution by Wall Garrison leader Dot Pixis. Soon after, Pixis announced a mission to retake the recently raided Trost District by using Eren's titan to pick up a fuckhuge boulder and plug the hole in the Trost District wall. However, after transforming into a titan infront of the boulder, Eren immediately turned around and attempted to murder Mikasa numerous times, eventually incapacitating himself and leaving the accompanying troops to deal with the approaching titans. We ended with Armin attempting to physically and metaphorically awaken Eren from his state of unconsciousness.
As always, no untagged spoilers, and tag any black and white images as spoilers. Leave all autism in the other SnK thread.
Being into music, I ordered the 20th anniversary reissue of Luomo's "Vocalcity" album, which is a must listen for anyone into laid-back electronic music, or even open to it for that matter. I highly recommend this song for anyone interested youtube.com/watch?v=DeQchIQOL6I It's perfect late night music, which is certainly something I'll need for the next few hours.
This whole sequence convinces me that Eren experienced another dream world while inside the PATHS and that's why we get the shard of AU Mikasa and Armin.
I feel like this part about why Eren was locked into his own mind will never be explained. Was it Karl that threw a hail mary here and to prevent Eren from fulfilling his duty and stop Paradis' day of reckoning?
Hype! And how were they ever going to move that boulder to fix the gate in case of titans anyway? How did they even get the boulder in the town?

Ymiru described the unconscious titan state as feeling like a long nightmare, so maybe being an unconscious shifted titan is more like a long dream. The reason why he actually got locked in that mental state is left ambiguous, but it seems like he didn't have full control over his titan and (as the anime implies) he genuinely did not like Mikasa.
