I think the face that they announced it with the VAs for Rukia, Ichigo and Byakuya as well as Nini and Noel means it's not only real but they're also doing the novels, which is good.
I wonder if they'll do the novels for both We do KNOT always love you and Can't Fear Your Own World before the 10 year timeskip epilogue chapter, I feel like that would be way more effective

You know, I'd be down if they adapted Death Save The Strawberry novel as a starter to the show as it happens to explain how they created the reshi sword to stab Ichigo with to restore his powers and how Rukia became a vice captain and her new hairstyle.
If I had it my way I'd start off with a filler episode to re-establish the shinigami and the living world residents to lead into the death save the strawberry novel, then the thousand year blood war arc, then the wedding and hisagi novels then the epilogue chapter.
Nini and Noel's story line starts 2 years after the final chapter of bleach so I doubt any set up in bleach will talk about the western branch of soul society to remind people it exists. Manga only watchers won't know that, just like they won't know the soul tickets kyoraku was giving the living world kids were from the pilot chapter

If you were tasked with adapting the last arc of Bleach (and maybe some material from the novels), how would you go about it? Would you do a straight adaptation? Add in material from the books? Maybe even outright redo certain parts so that they flow better or make more sense?
