Why do otaku hate Miyazaki but love Takahata?

Why do otaku hate Miyazaki but love Takahata?
I've noticed many manchildren in this otaku den hold these opinions, but never anywhere else.

Because the manchildren here don't go outside and are incels

Takahata has a better understanding of human emotions than Colonel Sanders.

Takahata isn't constantly saying controversial stuff?

Because takahata's works are objectively better.

Because Miyazaki is more popular and outspoken. It's pretty funny that you think Takahata didn't have any edgy opinions even though him and Miyazaki were best friends for 50 years. He probably thought otaku were utter retards who were poisoning the pure legacy of Nippon frankly.

Miyazki objectively worked on that show.

He speaks vaguely and in broad, sweeping generalities. It makes him seem irrational and overreactionary. He should slow down a bit and actually elaborate on what it means for modern life to be "thin, shallow, and fake" rather than just spew out some vague bile and expect us to understand what the hell he's talking about.

He's not wrong.

I don't know, only yesterday seemed pretty autistic to me. maybe that can be attributed to the source material though. then again, he chose to adapt it so....

He isn't saying much of anything these days...

hes annoying

Takahata was more into SOL, which otaku tend to favour over the fantasy adventure stuff Miyazaki mostly did

Because Miyazaki only respects himself. He basically hates all anime that isn't his own, and everyone cheers him on for it and never questions his bullshit.

Didn't Miyazaki go on a rant about how lolicons are disgusting only to then later be caught in a drunken stupor going on about how there's really nothing wrong with marrying a grade schooler?

I like Miyazaki more than Takahata.
I judge them based on their work rather than their personality.

Miyazaki is a bitter boomer.

Only yesterday was his best film, and one of the best ghibli films ever

About that.

Takahata was a murderer

He'll never finish this last movie. His son will have to do it for him once he passes away.

Dunno if user loves Takahata more than Miyazaki or not. But Miyazaki's hot takes always result in salt and hilarity and for that reason alone I find him immensely entertaining. And I can certainly sympathise with him regarding the state of the anime industry, even if sometimes I don't entirely agree with his points or I feel that he misses the mark in some way. He is a matured artist, but I feel somehow that he doesn't understand that this is a process that artists have to go through in order to properly bloom, nor that most of them have the benefit of being mentored by the industry greatests, so he defaults to being grumpy. Which is an understandable reaction, don't get me wrong, but I don't think he's quite aware of how lucky and privileged he was even if he is indeed a great and self-actualised artist.

Because most people outside of "otaku" don't even know who takahata is. Manchildren are people who think they know anime when the nly directror they know about is Miyazaki.

It's pretty funny that your making assumptions about takahata.

You'll find plenty of people that prefer takahata among those who actually know both, not just her. Miyazaki is just more mainstream , if takahata became mainstream, a lot of people would prefer him as well.

Are we gonna have shounenshit console war over directors now?

>Miyazaki go on a rant about how lolicons are disgusting
he never did something like that, dude is fan n1 of little girls

>Miyazaki: Imma retire, only come out of my hole to shit on every young anime artist I inspired that came after me, shit on my fans, be a hypocrite sitting on a pile of money I made doing all my anime.

Is it just me or everytime some sage of the industry like Anno, Myazaki, Alan Moore, George Lucas, or Scorcese come out and moan about the poor state of their industry it's been about a decade after they've done anything original or not shit?

You ever wonder why folks here are here and not someplace else? Why they aren't outside playing in the sun or whatever. Why they aren't discussing anime with their friends or with fellow fans at meetups or cons? The reason is, people here hate other people. They hate them so much, even the idea of having a name attached to a poster, thus personifying him, is met with derision and outrage. Still, a man needs to communicate his thoughts and listen to the thoughts of others - it's a biological need much like the need to jack one off to cute and funny every now and again. Enter the imageboards, where you can exchange pure thoughts without ever meeting the accompanying human.

Now Miyazaki is a meme director - everyone knows about him, and every single thot and every single nigger OH ABSOLUTELY ADORES THE GENIUS OF THE ORIENTAL FAIRYTALE. Remind yourself now that anonymous hates those people with a passion, even more so than just people in general. So to hate them even more, he has to hate what they like too, hence the hate for Miyazaki. Now mind you, nobody is contesting that his movie looks gorgeous, that he's the only one left with any respect for the medium at all, and that he's right about pretty much everything, but I just can't like him. Meanwhile Takahata is excellent as well, but nobody knows about him and nobody gives a shit, so I can say that I like him freely.

Before you start bitching, it's worth to realize that in these changing times, not even the hate is absolute, and seeing as imageboards are all but taken over by normalfags such as yourself that don't strictly need to hate anything, you'll see this kind of opinion less and less often with each coming year.

Thought provoking post

>that he's the only one left with any respect for the medium at all
This is patently false. Miyazaki only has resspect for his own idea of what the medium should be.
>that he's right about pretty much everything
I'm sure even he doesn't think this. His takes on modern life and technology are particularly lacking in any nuance.

He's talking about modern capitalist culture, and comparing it to the times when he grew up, when probably things more than just wealth mattered.

If you ever actually watched anything he's ever made your understand.

>That giant wall of text to say "Yas Forums is contrarian"
Practice brevity, my dude
