I think the idea is that his mind was breaking from seeing a full complete world like ours. Then to compensate he wound up getting sucked into the consciousness of the pillar most like himself from that time and that's what the last few pages were.
It's not that the fifth key from their time had risen, it's that he's gone back to the time when the fifth key rose in the first cataclysm. And seeing how he's strapped to that bed, I imagine this old Pillar he's in either wasn't wanting to be in on the plan or had themself tied down to stop from hurting people with the fire powers that wouldn't have been widespread at the time.

He went to the past, the world was vastly different, much more than he could ever imagined (that's why the 3D shit). Shinra couldn't take it and passed out, but not before atomizing Inca who went along just for the lulz but got instagibed.

In the future, most of the world was destroyed by a huge firestorm. Japan and some parts of China are the only habitable places left, and Tokyo has become a theocracy. Every once in a while people light on fire and turn into monsters, and there are special firefighters, mostly with pyrokinesis powers, who fight the monsters. The villains are a cult trying to cause another firestorm to wipe out the rest of the world. Overall it's pretty standard shonen with a cool artstyle and a fun mystery, but it's not a masterpiece or anything

MC gains the ability to move so fast he can see into the past. He sees the world before the first firestorm, and since it's supposed to be modern day it's pictures of real life Tokyo. He's probably getting super creeped out because he's seeing hundreds of years into the past and most of the people he sees are going to violently burn to death soon
