Season is called Pokémon Journeys.

They're at least keeping Go's name intact, which has to be a first.

It suits them since Ash is gay now for that tranny looking nigger.
Does it still air on disney or what happened?
if not this is like the second station change in the past few years
>Not even Disney wants it
Does anyone care a out the Pokemon anime anymore after they royally fucked XYZ?
I guess Disney didn't renew the TV license so PUSA just went to Netflix. The Pokemon anime is pretty worthless nowadays given how poorly Sun and Moon did ratings wise.
Nope.
You could tell by how nobody talked about SM until Ash go his pity make up win.
it's still pretty popular
XY&Z's blunder league didn't change anything in japan
>The Pokemon anime is pretty worthless nowadays given how poorly Sun and Moon did ratings wise.
The S/M anime did fine before changing its timeslot from thursdays to sundays.
Its ratings were lower than XY, but that was to be expected as every new series has lower ratings than the last (XY had lower ratings than BW, BW had lower ratings than DP, etc). SM still showed up in the top 10 almost every week.
After moving to sundays it disappeared because it's not competing against Chibi Maruko-chan which has always been much more popular than Pokémon, but it doesn't matter because TVTokyo doens't really care about ratings
>XY&Z's blunder league didn't change anything in japan
S/M has the lowest ratings in the franchise and the current series isn't doing well either. Pokemon still does well inspire of the anime.
>but it doesn't matter because TVTokyo doens't really care about ratings
VRAINS got cancelled despite sales being up because it's ratings were shit
>S/M has the lowest ratings in the franchise and the current series isn't doing well either.
That has nothing to do with the anime's popularity. All anime's ratings have been declining with time (Sazae-san nowadays struggles to get half the rating it got when XY was airing and still retains its #1 position in the top 10)
XY had the lowest ratings of any pokémon series when it aired, then SM had the lowest, now PM has the lowest. OLM and TVTokyo know every new series will have lower ratings than the last because kids simply don't care about TV anymore, they have other options to watch their favorite series, which has rendered ratings obsolote, as they no longer represent a series's popularity.
In fact, before moving to sundays, SM managed to stay in the top 10 for longer than XY did, but sadly its ratings went to shit when it was forced to compete against Maruko-chan, which always holds the second place in the weekly top 10.
Pokémon was in a safe timeslot back in thursdays, it pretty much didn't have any competition and it's now being forced to compete against a series that would overshadow any pokémon series
you know I kinda lost track of who holds the US license for Pokemon, iirv it went something like
>4kids held it from gen 1 to late gen 3
>CN/warner had it for gen 4 to 5
>Disney had it from gen 6 to 7
S/M is the only series in which they didn't make a season specific movie for and the redesigns were poorly received and it didn't Garner the same level of discussion XYZ did. The difference between XYZs low ratings and S/M low ratings is that OLM took notice of the hit the series had and tried to improve it with nostalgia pandering but it didn't work (SM only managed to crack the top 10 because of Shin Chan's and Doraemon ratings slip not because it was doing better in fact the league ratings didn't crack the top 10 while XYZs did)
The timeslot change was a definite factor but it was one among many that caused it's ratings to slip since the series had already experienced several timeslot changes throughout its run and still recovered but it didn't work with S/M
This
>S/M is the only series in which they didn't make a season specific movie for
XY's movies doing poorly was the reason for this.
Like he said, the timeslot change itself wasn't the issue, but which timeslot it got moved to. Pokemon's never had to compete with something as big as Chibi Maruko-chan before. (and SM's last episode did manage to crack the top 10 despite that)
Fpbp
That's because you're very confused. Pokemon has had two dubbing studios: 4kids and the one done by The Pokemon Company. The switch happened in gen 3, as you said. The only difference is what network has the rights to air it.
>the first 52 episodes were syndicated, so they normally aired on FOX or UPN
>Warner had the license from that point until the end of gen 6, when it aired on KidsWB and later Cartoon Network (EXCEPT the three movies distributed by Meramax, which Disney owns the distribution rights for and TPC still hasn't managed to get them back)
>Disney had the airing rights for gen 7 only
>currently, Netflix has them
As it should be because this current season has been great. I love where Ash is now. His current team is no joke at all
>nig with weird name
NO
SM was pretty good desu.
>Go
He's Goh now.
ASH IS A NIGGER??
>Two male leads.
Kids of today are perverts, this will turn them away.
>S/M is the only series in which they didn't make a season specific movie for
The XY movies were atrocious. The Diancie movie was so fucking bad and had such poor reception even in Japan that they scrapped the entire model of making a movie and boosting ticket sales through game events.
Sun and Moon gave us the alternate universe movies which were so much fucking better than any Pokémon movie in 10 years.
>and the redesigns were poorly received
It's always the same fucking song and dance. "Ash looks ugly" be doesn't. It's a fine redesign and looks perfect in movement.
Not every character has to use the same generic anime face you know.
>and it didn't Garner the same level of discussion XYZ did.
XYZ's discussion was waifufaggotry and retarded internal jokes. Even today XY anime discussion boils down to Serena and Korrina posting.
>SM only managed to crack the top 10 because of Shin Chan's and Doraemon ratings slip not because it was doing better
So you admit that other long running popular anime are having poor ratings now? Good, because that was that user's entire point.
>in fact the league ratings didn't crack the top 10 while XYZs did
Yes, because nobody was expecting anything from the Alola league after the shitshow that was the Kalos league.
>Kids of today are perverts
Especially fujos. You know that they start at really young age?
I didn't notice this. That's actually hilarious, they used Koharu a lot on Japanese promotional media but she barely gets any screentime or speaking roles. This proves she won't be having a big role in the anime anytime soon if at all.
Some user was saying that her VA is too expensive so they can't afford to give her a big speaking role, this would certainly explain it.
You think she was gonna originally be a traveling partner, but plans were changed?
Not just anime. Ratings in general are going down it's meaningless. Kamen Rider's ratings are going down every year for example but it's sames are generally going up. DVR, online streaming, all the usual stuff that's lowering ratings in every country.
As others said that was due to XY's movies doing badly, but even those were facing a downward spiral from BW. They're just trying to revitalize the movies while keeping them yearly.
Or maybe she was just included because the studio demanemded a female character for merch, but she has less of a speaking role that the Professor's aides. In the last episode she appeared, some of her lines were reused from older episodes.
Koharu was always marketed as just a friend of Gou's while Gou and Satoshi were always up front the two main leads. Pocket Monsters 2019 was designed to be easily digested by kids since they felt the new Sunday timeslot discouraged serialized storytelling and they wanted as little plot as possible. Just the two boys showing up at random locations and having an adventure with a random Pokemon each weak. Koharu was never more then background dressing.
Jesus Christ that shitty ass opening.
The Japanese opening is really great.
They couldn't just get some YouTube singer to sing a English dub of it?
Iris. Pikachu.
Also, Go in the dub is called "Goh," which is fucking stupid as Go himself is supposed to be based on the player character from Pokemon GO and Let's Go.
That would mean paying the license for the original. It's cheaper to just not license the music and create new music.
SM was good, Ash finally won the pokemon league
That only makes it worse for the XYfags.
If they aren’t in the series I don’t care
No, VRAINS deliberately ended on purpose because it had multiple production problems throughout its run. The majority of its story, themes, and characters were changed at the last minute. A lot of people left after ARC-V got fucked up due to the storyboards and scripts being handed in at the last minute, resulting in the shitshow that the second half of ARC-V became and several production problems there. Animators near ARC-V's end had to draw entire scenes without any storyboard or script to reference, resulting in negative morale and even some animators complaining about the series and Studio Gallop on social media. Gallop lost a lot of its sponsors and animators during the transition between ARC-V and VRAINS, resulting in VRAINS having a significantly lower budget with a much smaller staff.
VRAINS was supposed to be about kids never giving up and was aimed for a younger audience. The original Yusaku was supposed to be a young kid who wanted to try dueling for the first time and was able to gain courage through VR. Go and Blue Angel were supposed to be popular (charisma) duelists in VR, and serve as an inspiration for Yusaku to never give up and follow his dreams. VRAINS became a more mature, VR-type of series. In the new VRAINS, those characters feel out of place, as well as their status as popular duelists in VR, but that was a holdover from the past show. The VRAINS production was so atrocious that the director was changed in Episode 13, and the series had no short of 5 clip show episodes.
Something had to give, and unfortunately it was VRAINS. The series ended at 120 episodes because nobody at Studio Gallop (writers, storyboarders, animators) could take it anymore. Even the second version of VRAINS was supposed to be a much more ambitious series, focusing on SOL but in the end SOL was just a holdover and had no real influence in the series, with Lightning being retconned as the ultimate source of every major conflict and plot point in VRAINS.
