Why are waifu threads not allowed?
How is posting pictures of anime and manga characters not related to anime and manga? Can anyone explain this to me? Which rule, global or board-specific, do waifu threads violate?

This board is for discussing anime and manga, not spamming threads full of cute girl images. That belongs on /c/ or /e/ depending on the content. With that being said I don't know where you got that they're not allowed. Yas Forums is always full of waifu image shitposting threads.

A waifu thread was just deleted earlier tonight. I posted my husbando in. And it was deleted. You must be a newfag if you haven't noticed this. Waifu threads used to be commonplace, but now they get deleted.
I am asking why? What rule are they breaking?
I also feel like I should mention that this is an imageboard. It is for posting images. If it's for discussion only, then why are we allowed to post images?

I believe redditors hate the word "waifu" in general.
It's in imageboard format but that doesn't mean that every board is made for just spamming pictures. /c/ and /e/ exist for what you want. I don't know why you're offended that your shitty pic dumps keep getting deleted on a board that isn't just for pic dumps. Yuri, yaoi, and mecha are also anime related a lot of the time but they also have their own boards and so while they're not ocmpletely banned on Yas Forums you're encouraged to go to their specific boards instead of shitting up Yas Forums.

I don't know. Probably the one about each thread having a meaningful topic of discussion. There's more rules on Yas Forums that are enforced than those listed in the official rules.
Like said, a is meant to be discussion which can be supplemented by images. Image dumping belongs in other boards meant for it. We still get waifu threads, as well as other kink dump threads, but they’re less commonplace especially now since the season is still newish and a lot of people want to discuss new series

These would seem to be in the "images that belong on /c/ or /e/" category, and yet they are allowed. And waifu threads are not.

I've gotten warned before for for reporting what amounted to a "post these kind of girls" and it died by bump limit, so there's more to that than just "providing a meaningful topic".
I think the thread was deleted because of the "Wednesday" part. This implies that it's going to be a reoccurring thread, which goes against the no general rule. Same thing happens with Slayers Sunday like said.
