Vegeta doesn't even make sense as a character.
He starts off as a dick. He's still a dick through the android saga - it's never explained how or why he sleeps with Bulma, especially considering that he's pretty openly disgusted by her even after Trunks is born.
Then the Buu saga happens and suddenly we're supposed to believe that he's gone through this major character shift. And now he's basically a joke.
