Part 1 was cool, and Jonathan was awesome, so I was surprised when he died at the end. Then Joseph comes along and we see the continuation of the crazy Joestar saga. Pillar Men, WW2, Nazis, Hamon. Everything about part 2 was so cool and entertaining. Then in part 3 we get what I consider the best part so far. Stands, DIO is back, Jotaro is just as cool as Joseph, if not cooler/better. Speaking of Joseph, he's back and his over the top reactions to everything were the best. The side characters were top notch. From Avdol, to the sometimes annoying Polnareff. The world traveling and all the different enemies they faced up to DIO were fun and action packed. Everything was smooth sailing... until part 4.
The story has been getting so much more expansive and robust so I'm wondering where they're gonna take this - oh, to high school...? Wait a second, why does Jotaro look so different? I'm 20 episodes into part 4 and it's so hard to get into. Koichi can fuck right off with his love saga with crazy girl. Stupid fat pineapple kid and his money story was just annoying. The random ghost thing and finding a killer (which I've learned is apparently the main baddy?) On top of all that Joseph is old and a shell of his former self which kind of upsets me. I love his character. Josuke is fun, and one of the only parts of part 4 that I find enjoyable. Plus his mom is hot.
So why is everything from the art style, to the stakes, to the tone of the story so different from previous parts? What is the actual point of this part other than chasing this bow and arrow? Where is the cool action, good side characters and actual story? Who is this killer dude and why should I care about him when all I'm presented with is Josuke's money issues and Krillin's love episodes? When will this part pick up the stakes and intrigue?

with the amount of part 4 shit posting going on recently I doubt anyone will answer you seriously or even read all that so ill give you some insight. part 4 is so different because of the fact that araki wanted to make each part as different as possible in almost every case major genre shifts is the fastest to point out. that being said the smaller stakes about part 4 are worked into its favor to make it a more character centeric and having global threats every part would hurt overall and make it feel like asspulls as well imo. even if you dont end up liking part 4 after its done just take solace that you dont have to like every part and that you have a different story and tone in store for future parts with how diverse a series jojo is
