I think Vivid is great even on its own but Life was the missing piece that filled in the gap of levity and funner character interactions. It's not a surprise that they were serialized simultaneously.

I like Nanoha for this very reason. I want to feel charmed by mahou shoujo. Not grossed out.

Rewatched Season 1 recently since it had been years since the last time i saw it. Lots of little things I forgot about like how Precia's backstory used to be significantly more evil and that they do touch on Nanoha's loneliness issues a bit more than I remembered. But man is it slow paced even when things are happening.

Also I miss the outfits they used to put Nanoha in. She was absolutely at her apex of cuteness back at the start.

This is the only thing I lament if the military setting. They spend most of their times on their uniforms ir training clothes. Back in A's they had a good variety of civilian clothing.
