More in that she genuinely doesn't give a shit about most things unless it involves Shiki or Ciel, whatever happens to anyone else really doesn't bother her. She's not evil but she's not really kind either. She just seems that way on the surface but she's actually extremely cold and is just a hedonist out to enjoy herself having now discovered things outside her initial function. Whenever she delves into her thoughts and feelings on certain subjects you can see her shed her bubbly dumb blonde persona and see she's extremely intelligent and well-versed in a lot of subjects despite her sheltered life, the only subject that truly baffles her is humans and why we live the way we do despite our short time. She does have her own values and the way the dead apostles feed on and manipulate lives does disgust her but it's more to do with how she was raised and her own pride as a vampire. And that's not even getting into her deal with Crimson Moon and Archetype Earth. She's a weird character and genuinely one of the more interesting characters in the Nasuverse if you look beneath the veil.

How true is that? It has been so long since I played Tsukihime and KT, I thought she simply liked to troll her. Does she feel some kinship or something for some weird reason? Is it based on another game? I'm not familiar with Melty Blood.

I can't remember if that's implied elsewhere, but A:E seems to express something like that sentiment in Actress Again. Of course the difference between the A:E personality and regular Arc is also a point of contention and the points where they overlap are a little vague.

There's definitely a part of her heart that Ciel occupies along with Shiki despite the vitriol in their relationship on the surface. Ciel is one of the few people who can provoke some genuine positive emotions out of Arcueid and there's a strange understanding and familiarity the two share with one another. And the more time they spend the more 'normal' their interactions become going from bitter enemies who would kill each other in cold blood, to rivals who regard each other as a nuisance but reliable in a disaster, to genuine allies of sorts who are just annoyed with one another's antics. IIRC, Arcueid flat out said she doesn't mind Shiki getting with Ciel as long as she(Arc) is his number one girl. The fact she specifies that it's okay if it's Ciel says something.
