Sony is developing a live-action One Punch Man movie, written by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner (Venom)
>Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner are set to write a live-action film adaptation of the worldwide hit manga series “One Punch Man” for Sony Pictures.
>Avi Arad and Ari Arad of Arad Productions are producing the film.
>Hugely popular both in Japan and around the world, “One Punch Man” follows the story of Saitama, a superhero who can defeat any opponent with a single punch but seeks to find a worthy opponent after growing bored by a lack of challenges in his fight against evil.
>Created in 2009 by Japanese artist ONE as a web comic, “One Punch Man” quickly went viral. In 2012, it was then published on Shueisha’s Young Jump Next with illustrations by Yusuke Murata along with ONE. The series saw worldwide sales of over 30 million copies. When the English edition published by VIZ Media debuted in the U.S. in 2015, the first and second volumes made the New York Times manga bestsellers list and was nominated for an Eisner and a Harvey Award. Since then, the popularity of “One Punch Man” has led to a critically acclaimed anime TV series, as well as a video and mobile game.
>Insiders say Sony is very high on the property given its popularity and the possibility of adding another franchise to the pipeline.
>Rosenberg and Pinker have become favorites at Sony after penning the hugely successful “Venom,” which led to an upcoming sequel. They also wrote both “Jumanji” pics for the studio. The most recent installment, “Jumanji: the Next Level,” bowed this past December and grossed $796 million at the worldwide box office.
Hopefully it flops and they stop trying to adapt this shit.

A feminist, probably.

first thing on my mind too, I wonder if they'll mess with her body to be more petite, or they'll just hire a petite actress, if you can name any.

>Rosenberg Already ruined, can't wait for the political correctness.
Robert Myers
Venom was stupid and fun. They're the perfect writers for one punch man. Not to mention how good the animation was for venom
Christian Rogers
Have adaptations of anime to live action movies ever worked well? I imagine it did in Japan but it seems like something that's going to be something the West consistently screws up.
Ayden Anderson
Do you guys think this one will top Dragonball Evolution?
Robert Myers
How happy do you think One is right now. He gets a free trip to Hollywood and paid to put his name on this trainwreck.
Angel Lee
And Murata. I both think they'll be very happy.

Venom was fucking anemic, it had potential to be good but they completely ruined it, the cgi was shit, but worse, character and plot development was absolute shit, in other words just another product of (((holywood)))

>Sony is developing a live-action One Punch Man movie, written by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner (Venom) Just when you thought 2020 couldn't get any worst.
James Morales
Surely they can't fuck up a bald guy punching CGI monsters for an hour can they?
Matthew James
Jokes on you, after the mess that was S2 of the anime im desensitized to OPM being murdered by incompetence.
can't wait for this project to never actually happen just like all the other anime hollywood adaptations
Landon Nelson
Probably one of the few anime that could be a decent LA because of how basic yet explosive fight scenes are. Not gonna watch it regardless but it has a better chance to not be complete garbage like Bebop.
