Who was in the wrong here?
Who was in the wrong here?
urm rape maybe?
No one. They both fought for their own dreams like true men should do.
That stupid tree in the middle. They should've teamed up to cut it down.
Both of them for not talking it out like adults.
The tree, because it ruins the atmosphere
the nigger formely known as Griffith
>Griffith jeopardizes his dream immediately afterward because he's upset that Guts left
miura
This is fucking retarded because he's literally about to get it.
Maybe we'll find out in 45 years time when Miura's cyborg replacement finally revisits the relationship between those characters for the first part of the 200 year-spanning finale.
Griffith wanted to own Guts as his dream collection piece and Guts just wanted to do his own thing. Griffith's in the wrong
>Guts just wanted to do his own thing
He only left because he overheard Griffith's "people who don't pursue their own dreams can't be my friend/equal" talk with the princess and thought that meant he needed to strike out on his own to prove himself to Griffith, even though Griffith already considered him a friend/equal.
i just realized both of them were violated as children
guts shouldve talked to griffith about how he felt when he over heard his conversation with the princess and i cant believe he got casca pregnant after he took her virginity
he has a new sword?
isn't guts being in his band part of his dream
its been a while
I have come to view these two characters as sort of manifestations of high-level meme concepts like Good and Evil. I think this is the most accurate description of their relationship. My interpretation rests entirely on the conversation that Griffith has with the princess. Griffith says that he can only be friends with someone who is his equal, someone who has their own dream and their own goal/ambition. Griffith SAYS this, but when Guts actually acts on his words and leaves the band to go find himself, look at how Griffith behaves. So was Griffith lying about what he considers a friend? I think he probably doesn't even know what it means to have a friend. He only owns things, possessing them until he is tired of them. Griffith is my definition of Evil.
When was Griffith ever abused? The noble was consensual, and he was an adult
I personally think he knows what he wants wants a friend but he said all that shit to Charlotte to get her panties wet and sound more impressive. I think Guts was truly his best friend because if he wasn't the eclipse wouldn't have worked.
Griffith for not letting Guts do his own thing.
Miura for starting a story he couldn't finish.
The tree is a great visual border in that panel. Notice how the dark shadow points towards Griffith, and the entire panel is just a little bit darker on Griffith's side all things considered.
right, he was talking shit to impress the princess so he could get closer to his own goal. Griffith manipulates people like that, but he didn't realize that Guts heard that conversation and took it as the truth. You know something is wrong with Griffith, because he never grows as a character, hes always perfect like some kind of illusion in the shape of a person, and even when he suffers he only suffers because its what he wants. After his reincarnation hes not a better person; hes just more distant and more unapproachable. He's that guy who always gets his way, but is never satisfied. And the one time he doesn't get his way he kills everyone that considered him a friend. Nah, I dont think a sociopath like Griffith is actually capable of friendship.
Grifith for trying to prevent Guts leave. A man dose what a man thinks for the best and what he needs or wants.
Yes, but again, Guts believed that he needed to prove himself because he *really* wanted Griffith to see him as an equal, and didn't realize that Griffith already thought of him that way.
Griffindor for being a manipulative nigger
It will always be Griffith. Despite being a "big thinker", Griffith panicked and couldn't come to terms with the changes going on within himself and the person he actually cared about. His ego took priority and he destroyed himself because of it.
Guts on the other hand welcomed the change Griffith brought into his life, only became more humble as he faced the direction his life and personality were heading in, and generally thought about everyone's best interest.
But he has to be capable of friendship because the sacrifice wouldn't have worked otherwise. During the black swordsman arc when the count gets a chance to use a behelit again and he tries to sacrifice Guts it doesn't work because the Godhand outright state that Guts is his enemy. The reason Griffith is more distant and unapproachable after his reincarnation is because he lost all of his humanity during the eclipse by sacrificing his friends and the people he cared about gave him the chance to become a Godhand. Griffith is for certain a villain but he did care about his mercenary group and especially Guts.
>The sacrifice to become one of the God Hand only works if you give up something you hold dear
>I don't think Griffith is actually capable of friendship
well, hmmm. I guess Im not sure what is required for a legitimate sacrifice, because this implies that he genuinely valued everyone in the band of the Hawk because everyone was sacrificed. I think he probably valued Guts and Casca more than others, so the requirements for sacrifice must be slightly arbitrary. Maybe he valued them the way a child values a favorite toy? He definitely did not have a mature or balanced view of his friends, but I am saying this as a person who could never sacrifice a friend in this way. So I guess by my own definition I would have to think that he never really considered them his friends. my definition of a friend might be clouding my judgement; people part with friends in real life, so maybe he did consider them friends and was still willing to sacrifice them... its one of those value things I cant wrap my head around...
