Let's face it, Naruto only gets downhill after the time skip. Good characters are left aside (Lee, Shikamaru for the most part, etc) and any strategy that was used before is thrown out of the window cos now we operate in DBZ logic.

Naruto spammed Nine tails chakra in the first two arcs of shippuden so it wasn't a waste

The Android Training was JUST FOR VEGETA.
Goku and Piccolo taught Gohan, THE HERO OF THE ARC, jack fucking shit. No Super Sayain, No Special Beam Cannon, No Kamehameha (that we know of), No improvement on Masenko which is his shittiest move, no nothing expect a VERY ill defined stat boost.
What's worse is we know MULTIPLE training methods Goku could have employed.
1. Training with them all in a Gravity Room provided by Dr.Briefs.
2. Training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber
3. Training in Otherworld
4. Training on Yardrat
5. Any combination of 2-4 with a space pod containing 1 since everything made by Capsule Corp can just be carried around in a capsule so no matter where those three went they had a gravity training room
But that would have required Toriyama to think.
