Actually at her level the explosion magic she casts is really powerful but yeah compared to other crimson demons her power is underwhelming, BTW would she be able to learn advanced native if she actually tried to learn other spells?

The exact opposite. It's so powerful that it proves to be a detriment. First, it destroys the monster you're trying to kill, which decreases the possible reward from its meat. Second, you can't use it underground or close to yourself for obvious reasons. Third, it consumes far too much magic which even if it doesn't make you collapse like Megumin, will make you use all your magic for one attack. It also has a long cast time.
It's damage at the cost of literally everything else.

Oh that makes more sense. I personally just assumed it was "Explosion costs X mana" "You have X mana and Y HP" so it took all your mana and then some of your HP to shore up the cost and then the size of the explosion was based around your MAG stat.
