You do understand that aiming at half the readership is a perfectly viable strategy, right? Just like how harem mangas like BokuBen, Nisekoi or Ecchii series aim only at the male chunk of the magazine (nisekoi's male readership accounted for about 88% of the total, and I imagine that number is even higher with something like Yuuna).

I don't think that's the case for Act-Age, but if you think all series aim at both male and female readership, you're mentally challenged.

The thing is that manga with self-insert main characters like the ones you just pointed out will generally have, as you again pointed out, around 80% of its readers belonging to the gender it self-inserts for. Not the case with Act-Age where its an evenly split percentage

Yeah, like I said I don't think this applies to act-age (although I'm not really sure if we actually have info on the %), I was just saying that a reverse harem series wouldn't have any problems working in WSJ. Whether they'd want to serialize it or not is another matter though.
