Is more about the Heart user. Sure if you have functioning braincells and are not able to make them stop working, there are a lot of things you will want to avoid, like 65% of anime/manga/light novels/visual novels (percentages in each medium may vary), but take for example an anime like S-cry-ed which could it be seen as a bit dumb, but is pure heart and feelings, is more about the emotion put into the work. And aside from that there are a lot of well though out anime/manga/light novels/visual novels that are easily enjoyable the more you think about the characters and the development of the story. Liking a/m/ln/vs does not mean you have to like all the works published, just look for what may interest you.

For me its that after watching hundreds of titles it became hard to find something interesting and new So i just re-watch old stuff
